HONOR Unveils a Robot Phone and Humanoid at MWC 2026

HONOR turned up at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026 with the most ambitious lineup it has ever shown: a smartphone that moves, a humanoid robot, and a deal with German cinema-camera maker ARRI that pulls professional imaging science into the phone in your pocket. For HONOR-watchers in Malaysia, this is the moment the company shifts from "another foldable" headlines into something genuinely different.

The Robot Phone leads the announcement

HONOR's headliner is the Robot Phone, a new device category the brand describes as a smartphone with motion and spatial awareness built in. The detail HONOR has shared so far positions it as a step beyond a traditional phone: rather than a static slab that reacts to taps, the Robot Phone reads physical context. Pricing and a global release window were not part of the MWC reveal.

Alongside it, HONOR introduced its first humanoid robot. Press photos from the show floor in Barcelona feature the robot dancing and taking a selfie. The brand framed the robot as a strategic expansion into consumer-grade robotics, leaning on the mobile and AI work HONOR has been building for the last two device generations.

The rest of the MWC lineup

Outside the future-facing reveals, HONOR also refreshed its core smart device family at MWC 2026:

  • Magic V6 foldable smartphone, HONOR's next flagship foldable.
  • HONOR MagicPad 4, the latest entry in the MagicPad tablet line.
  • MagicBook Pro 14, refreshing the MagicBook laptop range.

The three together fill out HONOR's ecosystem play, with the new robot devices on top of the usual phone, tablet and laptop trio.

The ARRI imaging deal

The other notable announcement was a strategic technical collaboration with ARRI, the long-time supplier of cinema cameras to professional filmmakers worldwide. HONOR's framing is that ARRI's image science (the colour, tone-mapping and exposure work that defines cinema look) will feed into the imaging pipeline of future HONOR devices. No specific HONOR model has been confirmed as the first to carry ARRI tuning, but the partnership signals where the company wants its camera reputation to go next.

What this means for Malaysian buyers

HONOR has not detailed Malaysian launch dates, RM pricing or local retail plans for any of the new devices in the MWC announcement. The Robot Phone and humanoid robot, in particular, are early-stage product reveals rather than ready-to-ship hardware, so a Malaysian on-sale window is not yet realistic to expect.

The Magic V6, MagicPad 4 and MagicBook Pro 14 are more conventional refreshes and are more likely to land in Malaysia through HONOR's usual launch cycle later in 2026. For now, the interesting question is which of the MWC bets, particularly the Robot Phone category, will still be making news 12 months from now.
