This update offers an ad-free shopping experience, displaying product images, reviews, and direct purchase links, positioning ChatGPT as a potential alternative to traditional search engines for online shopping.

Serving as a fresh alternative to traditional search engines, the shopping features are integrated into ChatGPT's default model, GPT-4o, and are available to all users globally, including those on Free, Plus, and Pro tiers, as well as users not logged in.
With this new shopping feature, you can receive tailored suggestions across product categories like fashion, beauty, home goods, and electronics. By asking specific questions, you can obtain a lists of products, complete with images and reviews.
This integration represents a significant step toward for ChatGPT, of a future with more interactive and personalized online shopping experiences.
OpenAI shared that the results are independently determined by their machine-learning structure which includes metadata from 3rd party sources such as pricing, specifications and review. Though not influenced by advertisements or commissions, the results will still vary depending on the 3rd party sources.
Like all AI-related tools linked to OpenAI ChatGPT, where users may input prompts ranging from technical instructions to casual conversations, it is advised to be cautioned on the accuracy of the results generated by ChatGPT.
