Apple has just launched its latest Mac mini, boasting M4 and M4 Pro chips, enhanced connectivity, and a more compact design—perfect for users looking for a high-performance desktop that doesn’t take up much space.
The redesigned Mac mini is smaller than ever, with a 5x5-inch form factor—nearly half the size of its predecessor. Despite its compact build, it delivers up to 1.8x faster CPU performance and 2.2x faster GPU performance compared to the M1 model, thanks to the M4 chip. The M4 Pro chip offers even greater speed, supporting demanding tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and AI processing.
The Mac mini’s cooling system ensures peak performance while keeping noise to a minimum, making it suitable for all sorts of users—whether students, creatives, or small business owners.
Like all recent launches, the new Mac mini is Apple Intelligence, Apple’s advanced personal AI system. It transforms how users work by enabling features like rewriting and summarizing text, refining speech-to-text transcriptions, and more. Integrated with Siri, it offers seamless task management, fluidly switching between spoken and typed commands. Apple’s on-device processing ensures privacy, while Private Cloud Compute handles more complex tasks securely.
Connectivity has also been upgraded. The M4 model includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M4 Pro has three Thunderbolt 5 ports—doubling the transfer speeds of Thunderbolt 4. Both models support multiple high-resolution displays, making the Mac mini a powerful addition to home offices, creative workspaces, or business setups.
The M4 model can handle up to two 6K displays, while the M4 Pro supports up to three 6K displays, allowing for an impressive multi-screen experience. Other features include front-facing USB-C ports, Gigabit Ethernet (configurable to 10Gb), and HDMI connectivity.
Apple is highlighting the new Mac mini as its first carbon-neutral Mac. Made with over 50% recycled materials, including aluminium, gold, and rare earth elements, it boasts an over 80% reduction in carbon emissions across production and usage. The packaging is also entirely fibre-based, reflecting Apple’s efforts to remove plastic packaging by 2025.
