OnePlus has made its debut in the AI smartphone game by introducing its latest innovation: the AI Eraser image editing feature for OnePlus smartphones. With this launch, OnePlus joins Samsung and Google in incorporating generative AI into their smartphones.

Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms, AI Eraser allows users to effortlessly select and remove unwanted objects within images from the Photo Gallery. Whether it's pedestrians, trash, or imperfections, users can highlight these objects, and the AI Eraser will seamlessly replace them with a background that blends naturally into the image.
Kinder Liu, president and COO of OnePlus, has also said that the brand has plans to introduce more AI features in the future.
One of the key highlights of AI Eraser is its accuracy and reliability, thanks to OnePlus' substantial investment in research and development. The proprietary large language model (LLM) powering AI Eraser has been trained on a vast dataset, enabling it to comprehend complex scenes and intelligently substitute unwanted objects with contextually appropriate elements.
AI Eraser will be gradually rolled out to OnePlus devices including the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus Nord CE 4 starting from April.
