Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2023

Here's Everything That Was Announced At The Samsung Unpacked July 2023 Today

New launch, who dis?

Samsung's biannual Galaxy Unpacked Event has just happened, and boy, was it packed with plenty of brand-new devices! Apart from the already widely speculated foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Z Fold5, Samsung has also released its new generation of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch6 Series, and pushed boundaries in the realm of premium tablets with the Galaxy Tab S9 Series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 was the biggest standout, with significant upgrades from the previous year. For one, the cover screen is now a larger 3.4 inches. Thanks to that, you can do so much more with the Cover Screen other than just check the time and notificationsnow, you can access apps like WhatsApp and Youtube right from the cover screen to quickly watch a video or send a message without flipping the phone open.

Besides that. the Galaxy Z Flip5 also offers a plethora of widgets, including a pull-down notification bar and Samsung Wallet. You can pinch the screen to view multiple widgets simultaneously!

The build of the phone has been modified to eliminate gaps, reducing the risk of dust and dirt intrusion. The Galaxy Z Flip5 also comes with new accessories, including the Flipsuit Case, a magnetic plate that sticks to the phone's bottom and changes the phone's theme to match the case. The case is NFC compatible, and the cover screen will sync with the case.

In other news, the Galaxy Z Flip5 features a Selfie Flexcam with a 12MP ultrawide f2.2 + 12MP wide with OIS and a front camera of 10MP. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, similar to the hardware of the S23, except with much smaller camera sensors. The phone also supports local app collaborations, allowing users to use apps like Family Mart with Flex Mode. The Flip5 is available in four colours: graphite, lavender, cream, and a new colour, mint.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 retains the previous year's design but with significant improvements to the user experience. Like last year, the Galaxy Z Fold5 focuses on optimizing productivity, with a large screen that supports multitasking and the upgraded S Pen. The phone weighs 253g (down 10g) and measures 13.4mm (down 2.4mm). The inside screen is 7.6" with a brightness of 1200nits and a peak of 1750nits.

The Fold5 offers more customization options for multitasking, such as having up to four recent apps on the taskbar and opening up to four pop-up windows. Aside from that, you will also be given more customization options when it comes to multitasking. like having more apps in the taskbar and arranging the layout of windowed apps on the screen. Plus, the new Flex Mode Panel features an adjustable toolbar, rewind/unwind, content info, and even a trackpad on the lower part of the screen.

The Fold5 features a camera system with 12MP +50MP OIS +10MP OIS. While there's no integrated S-Pen, a new cover with a slot for the S-Pen is included. The Fold5, like the Flip5, comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Galaxy processor for top-notch performance. The hinge system has also been improved, like the Galaxy Z Flip5, so there is no gap between the folded screens.

Galaxy Watch6 Series

The most important thing first: the physical rotating bezel is back! On the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic, that is. The much-missed feature has made a comeback, allowing users to scroll through menus much easier than ever, especially with the tactile feedback you can only find on a physical bezel.

Overall, the design of both the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic looks a lot more refined. The timeless design - pun intended - makes the smartwatch so much more sophisticated that you wouldn't realise isn't an actual watch until you touch it.

Besides that, the smartwatches have a range of health and wellness apps like a blood pressure monitor and ECG, along with all the fitness apps you have seen on the Galaxy Watch5 series. In addition to that, it is 30% slimmer and 15% thinner, but the display is now 20% larger and brighter so you won't have to worry about readability when out in the daylight.  Plus, there is now a quick-release mechanism for the straps as well, making customizability much easier on these watches.

Galaxy Tab S9 Series

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series comes in three models, with the Ultra being the top tier. All models feature AMOLED 2X displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and improved colours. An intelligent outdoor algorithm adjusts the display settings and brightness based on the weather. The tablets are now IP68 water and dust resistant, and they support the S-Pen and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

In this generation, Samsung has greatly improved the connectivity between their phones and tablets. Now, Galaxy users can connect their phone to the tablet and use it as a touchpad, or seamlessly move the mouse from the phone to the tablet. Files, texts, and more can be copied and pasted between devices, creating a cohesive Android ecosystem.
