1. Lock in Style

Starting from Android 13-based One UI 5, Samsung users can enjoy granular lock screen customization. With LockStar, you can now get more flexibility to move objects such as the clock, notification icons and media widgets around anywhere you desire.

LockStar comes with a wide selection of wallpapers and clock faces. This app also allows you to replace the default shortcuts or choose up to six apps for quick launch. Not only that, but you can also set a gesture which prompts your phone to unlock as well as the lock screen timeout.

Tired of the clutter of unused system apps? Lock Star also allows you to hide certain system app icons from the lock screen, perfect for the minimalists!

2. Left and Right

Task Changer changes the way you move from task to task, giving you more fluid navigation and upping your productivity. Different from other Android phones, this app allows you to scroll through background apps by swiping left and right, instead of up and down.

With a variety of scroll effects, this app ensures you will find one that suits you the best. Furthermore, you can choose and switch from five available layout types, including List, Grid, Stack, Slim List and Vertical Stack.

To ease one-handed operation in portrait mode, you can enable Mini Mode to shrink the list of recent apps into smaller increments at the bottom of your screen.

3. Makeover Your Quick Panel

Android 13 with One UI 5.1 truly provides Samsung users with a lot of customizability. To make things even better, QuickStar is introduced to provide more room for personalization, giving a makeover to the entire Quick Panel.

There are numerous features and settings to play around in QuickStar. On its Coloring tab, you will find a list of recommendations. You can even create your palette by adjusting the hues for each setting, the colour and transparency of your background as well as the  Blur and Dim effects.

Its Simple Indicator tab lists down all the settings for icons displayed in your Status Bar such as the mobile data signal, network information and more. Here, you will get increased control to select which icons to show up on the Status Bar.

When Notification Multi-Window is enabled, you can view and check the necessary information faster and more conveniently on the pop-up window.

4. Keep Organized on Every Occasion

Routines+ provides users with additional advanced features over Bixby Routines. You can combine processes and functions to create new routines. Each routine can be named and prompted by different conditions such as Air action using S Pen, Button action and unlock with fingerprints.

By prompting the routine, you can perform a set of actions. For example, when your Galaxy device is connected to your car, you can set a routine to play music via Spotify and then turn on Waze.

Routines+ allows sharing routines via QR codes. You can export and import saved routines with your friends and family who are also Galaxy users.

5. Make Your Own Volume Panel

As the name suggests, Good Lock SoundAssistant lets you customize and design your own volume panel. There are various features such as individual app volume, metronome, media manner mode and voice changer.

Using SoundAssistant, you can show a numerical volume level, adjust the height of the volume bar as well as enable the SoundAssistant floating button. You get a collection of quick access as you expand the volume panel. Here you can access the Bluetooth/speaker switch, Live Caption, Equalizer and the SoundAssistant itself.

The individual app volume provides the ability to adjust the volume of any multimedia app without changing the system volume. On the other hand, you can manually sync the sound with your earbuds using Metronome. This feature comes in handy when your Bluetooth audio suffers from poor latency.

Of course, you can also choose different themes and custom colours to decorate your volume panel. There are dark and light themes available.

As a Samsung-made suite of apps, Good Lock has done a fantastic job with the module offerings, and a whole lot of features available to customize your Galaxy the way you want. Most importantly, all the plugins are very user-friendly, so you can make your new Galaxy device truly yours, from the inside out!
