As announced previously, realme will be conducting strategic upgrades to its entry-level C Series smartphones, a first in the brand’s history. With the slogan “Leap to Champion”, realme aims to push barriers with segment-leading features and innovative design with flagship-level experience.
The first smartphone to receive these updates is the realme C55, just released on 28 March 2023. As realme dubs it, the C55 is “A Champion of the Segment”, featuring a best-in-class 64MP camera, 256GB memory storage, and 33W fast charging in a trendy and unique design.
The realme C55 sports a 6.72” display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The centrally-positioned punch-hole where the front camera is situated blends in with the screen thanks to the Mini Capsule, which is a first in Android devices.
The Mini capsule can display various light animations according to battery status and other important information at a glance, like data usage, step count, and notification.
For its camera setup, the realme C55 features a dual rear camera setup of 64MP and 8MP along with an 8MP selfie camera. It’s the first C Series product to carry the flagship OV64B sensor with 0.7 um pixel size and ½” optical format. For reference, this is the sensor that’s used in the realme GT Master Edition.
Moreover, the ProLight imaging technology allows for optimized highlight suppression technology to preserve more details in low-light conditions and bring more clairity to low-light images. In all, these upgrades result in a 54% increase in sensor size and 53.8% increase in clarity and resolution compared to previous C Series models.
Powered by the Helio G88 octa-core processor, the realme C55 comes with up to 16 GB dynamic RAM and 256GB ROM, which is also the largest storage in segment.
As for battery, the realme C55 packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC charge, which allows the phone to charge fully in 62 minutes.
Price and Availablity
The realme C55 will be available in two colours, Sunshower (white) and Rainy Night (black). Starting from RM699, it will be available for purchase on the realme Official Store starting 28 March 2023. Purchase before 31st March to receive a FREE realme Buds 2 Neo and an extended warranty!
realme Leap to Champion Roadshow
To celebrate the launch of the C55, realme has announced a Leap to CHampion Roadshow at Sunway Velocity and Genting Highlands over the next two weeks. THe Raodshow will feature plenty of fun activities including artist meet and greet, lucky draws, and promotions.
