OPPO Malaysia has just revealed the new OPPO A78 5G. Available in two colour variants, Glowing Purple and Glowing Black, the lightweight smartphone offers improvements in battery life and charging speed, as well as other hardware and software features, including a large expandable RAM of 8GB+8GB. It will be available for purchase from 14 January 2023 onwards for RM1099.

Equipped with OPPO's own ColorOS 13, the A78 5G provides convenient features like the FlexDrop, Three-Finger Translate and Photo Information Protection packed in a sleek device. One of the main highlights of this smartphone is its 33W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge support, giving the A78 5G’s long-lasting 5,000mAh battery a charge potential of 0% to 100% in just 67 minutes, and up to 22.85 hours of phone calls on a full charge. The stylish design of the A78 5G is also complemented by two available colour options, Glowing Purple and Glowing Black, with a weight of only 188g with 7.99 mm in thickness.
As for its hardware, the OPPO A78 5G has a powerful 50MP main camera for capturing ultra-high-resolution images, as well as a 2MP self-portrait lens and an 8MP front-facing camera for taking professional-grade pictures. Another interesting feature is its 108MP Ultra-Clear Image which uses software algorithms to boost image resolution to 108MP. The OPPO A78 5G will feature a 6.56-inch 90Hz display, dual stereo speakers with Real Original Sound Technology, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset for a powerful 5G performance, 128GB of internal storage, and support for microSD cards up to 1TB in size.
Pricing and Availability in Malaysia
Starting from January 14th, the OPPO A78 5G will be sold in Malaysia at the price of RM1099. The 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant will be available from My OPPO Space, OPPO Brand Stores, the OPPO Official Online Store, the OPPO Authorised Online Store, OPPO's chain store partners, e-commerce partners, and telco partners like Maxis and U-mobile.
As part of the launch promotion, customers will be able to receive a free OPPO band worth RM159 with every purchase of the A78 5G at any OPPO Brand Store nationwide.
