Apple unveiled the new iPad with an all-screen design with a huge 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display today. Powered by the A14 Bionic chip, the new iPad provides even quicker performance with amazing power efficiency for everyday tasks while still enabling all-day battery life.

Now in its 10th generation, the iPad has been completely redesigned to make Apple's most advanced iPad lineup ever. The 10.9" Liquid Retina display now reaches the edges of the device, so users can expect more screen area for apps, games, and entertainment without the extra weight. Apple has removed the Home button on the new iPad, opting instead to include Touch ID into the top button of the iPad for seamless unlocking, app log-in, and Apple Pay access.
The A14 Bionic chip allows the iPad to deliver 20% more powerful performance in graphics than the previous generation. The Advanced Learning Functions are powered by a 16-core Neural Engine, boosting machine learning capabilities by up to 80%.
As for the cameras, the front-facing camera is now set on the landscape edge, which means it's now at the side of the iPad instead of at the top. With this design, users will be able to look right toward the camera when doing video calls or recording videos. The 12MP ultrawide front camera has a 122-degree field of view that supports Center Stage, which automatically keeps the subject in... well, the centre stage as they move around.
The rear camera also sports 12MP and can capture clear, colourful photographs and 4K video. Dual microphones are made to work with the cameras so that they can pick up the sound while the camera is being used and are designed to cut down on distracting background noise.
The new Apple iPad also supports the 1st Generation Apple Pencil. Meanwhile, the all-new Magic Keyboard Folio, designed particularly for the new iPad, offers an exceptional typing experience with the new 14-key function row, a click-anywhere trackpad, and a flexible two-piece design.
The new iPad also comes with the brand new iPadOS16, which gives you powerful new ways to do more than ever. The new OS introduces new productivity and collaboration features, allowing users to get more done on the iPad.
Here are some new features on the iPadOS 16:
- Messages: Users can edit or unsend recently sent messages, recover recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread for later reference. There are also new collaboration features in the app to make managing shared projects quicker and more seamless.
- Freeform: A new powerful productivity app built into the iPad OS, the Freeform app has a flexible canvas and full support for Apple Pencil.
- Safari: Apple has added a new shared Tab Groups function to make web browsing with others easier. Passkeys have also been added to ensure your browsing experience is more secure.
- Mail: Schedule emails ahead of time and cancel delivery of a message before it gets to the recipient.
- Live Text: The text-recognition feature is now available in videos as well, making text completely interactive in paused video frames. Plus, Visual Look Up now allows users to isolate a subject by removing the background with just a tap.

The new iPad is still not available in Malaysia, though the pricing, which starts from RM2,099, has been announced on the Apple website. It is now open for pre-order in 28 countries including the US.
