How to Turn a Photo Into a Video With AI in Malaysia (2026)

Direct answer: To turn a photo into a video with AI in Malaysia, the cheapest way to start is Rojak: one photo and one move become a 5-second vertical video for RM4.90, paid in ringgit by FPX, card or GrabPay (checked 3 November 2026). If you only want a slideshow with captions and a voiceover, CapCut Web's photo-to-video tool is free to start. If you want a cinematic clip made from up to five photos, Gemini Omni is the strongest of the three, but it needs a paid Google AI plan from MYR 23.99 a month.

We checked each tool's own page on 3 November 2026. Prices and plans move, so confirm the figure at your own checkout before you pay.

Three kinds of "photo to video"

The phrase covers three different jobs, and most disappointment comes from buying the wrong one.

The photo does a move or comes alive

One photo of a person is animated: they copy a viral move, or an old family photo smiles and waves. This is what Rojak's image-to-video service is built for.

Several photos become a slideshow-style video

You upload a set of photos and the tool assembles them into a video with a script, captions and an AI voiceover. This is the CapCut Web approach.

Photos become a new cinematic clip

You give the AI up to five photos as references and describe the scene, and it generates new footage with sound. This is what Gemini Omni does.

Rojak: best for one photo, paid per video in ringgit

Rojak is Malay-first with English available, and it works on the web and over WhatsApp. On the web, one photo of you plus one move you pick becomes a vertical 9:16 video for TikTok. In WhatsApp, an old family photo can be animated for 5 or 10 seconds, with no sound.

Pricing is per video: RM4.90 for 5 seconds, RM9.90 for 10 seconds, RM13.90 for 15 seconds and RM27.90 for 30 seconds, or Ahli Rojak at RM29 a month for 1,200 credits (checked 3 November 2026 against its live price list). Eligible new accounts get one free 5-second video with a watermark. Payment is in ringgit: FPX, card, GrabPay, Apple Pay and Google Pay on the web, and FPX, card, GrabPay, Touch 'n Go or ShopeePay in WhatsApp.

What it cannot do: a web video takes about 3 to 8 minutes, not seconds, it works best with one clear face rather than a group photo for the web moves, and old-photo videos have no sound. Its privacy page says uploads on the website are deleted once the video is ready or within 4 days, and are not used to train AI.

CapCut Web: best free start, but it makes slideshows

CapCut Web's photo-to-video generator is aimed at turning several photos into one finished video. Its own page describes an AI-written script, AI voiceovers, captions and music, then a chance to edit text, timing and visuals before export (checked 3 November 2026), and it invites you to sign up for free.

What it cannot do: that page describes assembling photos into a scripted video, not making the person inside one photo move, so it will not give you a dance or a smiling old photo. We did not find a Bahasa Malaysia option described on the page.

Gemini Omni: best for cinematic clips, needs a paid plan

Google's page says Gemini Omni can turn photos into a video (up to five reference photos), create 10-second videos with native audio, extend a scene and edit an existing video by prompt. It replaces Veo in the Gemini app. Google AI subscription is required, 18+ only, and features vary by tier and country (checked 3 November 2026).

In Malaysia, Google's plan page lists Google AI Plus at MYR 23.99 a month, with 200 Google Flow credits and video generation, and Google AI Pro at MYR 97.99 a month with 1,000 credits. Higher tiers start at MYR 429.99 a month.

What it cannot do: it is a monthly subscription, not a pay-per-clip service, and it does not make a specific viral move from a TikTok clip the way Rojak does.

Which one should you pick

Make yourself do a viral move, one-off: Rojak. Bring an old family photo to life over WhatsApp: Rojak. Turn a photo album into a captioned video: CapCut Web. Make a cinematic scene from your photos and you will make many: Gemini Omni.

Tips for a photo that animates well

Use a bright, sharp photo with the face uncovered. For a viral move, use a photo of just you with the face large in the frame. Only use photos you took or have permission to use, and be careful with photos of people who have passed away: ask the family first.
