A question that keeps surfacing
Searches for some version of "laptop Toshiba" keep bringing up our Malaysian pages. "Harga laptop Toshiba." "Laptop Toshiba terbaru." "Toshiba Dynabook." Across 30 of these queries, Google Search Console shows our Malaysian pages appeared in results 3,294 times in the three months to 22 October 2026, and were clicked 34 times. Search appearances are not a count of people, but they are real and recent: 1,635 of those 3,294 appearances, nearly half, fell in the most recent 30 days, the month to 22 October.
The pages keep showing up for the question. The trouble is the answer, because Toshiba sold off that laptop business years ago.

What happened to the Toshiba laptop
Toshiba built and sold laptops for decades before stepping away. That business now belongs to another company. Toshiba agreed to sell 80.1 per cent of its PC unit to Sharp in 2018, the deal closed that October, and the renamed company became Dynabook Inc. in January 2019. The last chapter came in 2020, when, as Toshiba's own news release of 4 August 2020 records, Sharp exercised its option and Toshiba completed the transfer of its remaining 19.9 per cent of the shares. Dynabook became a wholly owned Sharp subsidiary, and Toshiba no longer held any share of the business.
So a search for "laptop Toshiba terbaru 2026", the latest Toshiba laptop, is a search for a business that now sits with Dynabook, which sells its current laptops under the Dynabook name.
What a "Toshiba laptop" is now
The direct successor is Dynabook, the Sharp-owned brand that inherited Toshiba's PC business and still sells machines in some markets. If you specifically want the heir to a Toshiba laptop, that is the name to look for, not "Toshiba".
If what you actually want is a good laptop to replace a Toshiba that served you well, the name on the lid matters less than what the machine does. Our guide to the best laptops in Malaysia and our laptop buying guide both start from that question rather than the brand.

If you are typing "laptop Toshiba terbaru" into Google tonight, the honest answer is that Toshiba has sold off that business. The nearest surviving relative is a Dynabook, and the surer way to replace an old Toshiba is to choose by what the machine does, not by the name.
