Netflix has raised the price of its plans in Malaysia. The Star reports that subscribers received emails citing 23 October 2026, though Netflix did not give a single timeline for when every existing account would move to the new price, since subscribers are notified according to their own billing date. In that email, the company said it was "updating our prices to keep improving what you already love."
Here is what each tier costs now, taken from Netflix's own Malaysian plans page. The prices before the rise, and so the increase on each plan, come from The Star's report.
Contents
- Mobile: RM19.90, up from RM18.90. Plays on one phone or tablet at a time.
- Basic: RM33.90, up from RM29.90. One supported device at a time, HD, no ads.
- Standard: RM55.90, up from RM49.90. Two supported devices at a time, Full HD.
- Premium: RM69.90, up from RM62.90. Four supported devices at a time, 4K Ultra HD.
An extra member slot, for someone outside your household, now costs RM14.90 a month.

Premium carries the largest increase in ringgit terms, at RM7 a month. Netflix bills monthly and does not sell an annual plan in Malaysia, but counting twelve months at the new rate, Premium now comes to RM838.80 a year. That is RM84 more than the RM754.80 it worked out to at the old price.

What you can do about it
The simplest saving is to step down a tier, and the maths comes straight from the new prices. Mobile at RM19.90 is Netflix's cheapest direct plan in Malaysia, bundles and partner deals aside, though it plays on one phone or tablet at a time. Standard at RM55.90 holds Full HD and two devices for RM14 a month less than Premium, which adds up to RM168 over twelve months.

Whichever way you go, direct Netflix plans in Malaysia now run from RM19.90 a month for Mobile to RM69.90 for Premium.
