U Mobile says it has reached 90% 5G Coverage of Populated Areas (CoPA) across Malaysia, a target the operator reports hitting more than nine months ahead of schedule. To mark the milestone, the telco is taking the celebration to the East Coast with Jelajah ULTRA5G: Edisi Pantai Timur, a roadshow running from 23 October to 7 November 2026.
The roadshow moves through three states over the two weeks. It opens in Pahang on 23 and 24 October, moves to Kelantan on 30 and 31 October, and closes in Terengganu on 6 and 7 November, with stops in Kuantan, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu. In Kuantan, U Mobile lists venues including Pasar Pagi Kampung Jawa, East Coast Mall, Kuantan City Mall, Kuantan Parade and Berjaya Megamall, open from 11am to 10pm.

What is on at the roadshow
Each stop pairs network demonstrations with activities aimed at families. Visitors can meet a 5G-enabled humanoid robot, try an AI photo booth and AI batik painting, and test interactive ULTRA5G experiences first-hand. The programme also features appearances and performances by local artistes Tomok and Sharul Kamal, along with radio DJs and buskers.
A free 7-day 5G trial
Alongside the roadshow, U Mobile is offering a 7-day ULTRA5G eSIM trial that gives new users 10GB of 5G data to test the network. Visitors can sign up at the roadshow, or take the trial beyond the event.
How Malaysia counts 5G coverage
CoPA, or Coverage of Populated Areas, measures the share of the population that falls within a 5G signal rather than the share of land. It is the yardstick Malaysia uses to track the national rollout, and the measure itself is still being debated: regulators are weighing whether to count private 5G networks at ports toward the national figure. U Mobile has also been expanding beyond consumer coverage, recently bringing private 5G and AI to a Malaysian solar farm.
