DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Pearl White Reaches Malaysia With 4K, 17-Stop Dual-Lens Video

DJI has made the Osmo Pocket 4P available in a new Pearl White colourway in Malaysia, giving its dual-lens pocket camera a softer, more lifestyle-led look without changing what sits behind the lenses. It is the same gimbal camera creators here have been buying for travel clips, vlogs and short-form video, now finished in a pearlescent white rather than the usual grey.

The finish is the whole point of this release. DJI says the Pearl White shell uses mica-infused pearlescent pigments under a multi-layer spray coating, so the surface shifts subtly as the light and the viewing angle change. It is aimed at creators who want the camera to read as an everyday carry object rather than a piece of kit, and it slots in alongside the existing colour as a straight alternative, not a different model.

Nothing about the imaging changes with the colour. The Osmo Pocket 4P keeps its two lenses on a three-axis mechanical gimbal: a wide 20mm equivalent at f/2.0 built around a 1-inch sensor, and a 60mm equivalent at f/1.8 on a 1/1.28-inch sensor for a tighter, more flattering framing. DJI rates it for 17 stops of dynamic range and records in a 10-bit D-Log 2 profile, which is the flat, gradeable footage serious editors ask for.

On DJI's own specification page the camera tops out at 4K (3840 by 2160) up to 60fps, with slow motion to 240fps at 1080p, a dedicated low-light video mode, three built-in microphones and a 2-inch, 1000-nit touchscreen that flips up for framing. It is a lot of camera for something that fits in a jacket pocket, which is exactly why it has become the default handheld for Malaysian creators who do not want to carry a rig.

Price and availability in Malaysia

The Pearl White joins the existing line-up rather than resetting it. In Malaysia the Osmo Pocket 4P Standard Combo sells for about RM2,419, with the Vlog Combo at around RM2,739, through DJI's Malaysian store and local retailers. We set out the full Malaysian pricing, including where the Osmo 360 II sits next to it, in our DJI Malaysia price breakdown.

What it can film

For anyone weighing this as a first proper video camera, here is what those specs actually let you make. The 4K at up to 60fps means you can shoot smooth, detailed footage and still slow a 60fps clip to half speed in the edit, while the 240fps mode at 1080p turns a pour, a splash or a skate trick into clean slow motion. The three-axis gimbal is mechanical, so a walk-and-talk or a moving shot stays steady without a separate stabiliser. The 10-bit D-Log 2 profile gives you flat footage you can grade to a filmic look rather than the baked-in colours a phone hands you, and the 1-inch wide sensor plus the dedicated low-light mode keep a night market or a dim cafe usable instead of noisy. Three microphones and a screen that flips up mean you can frame and record yourself cleanly for a piece to camera, which is most of what a solo creator actually needs.

Where it sits

The Osmo Pocket 4P is the direct successor to the camera that defined this category for Malaysian creators, the Osmo Pocket 3, and it now faces fresh competition from single-lens rivals like the Insta360 Luna Pro. The Pearl White does not change that contest on specs, but it does give DJI a second shelf presence and a colour aimed squarely at the lifestyle and travel crowd DJI keeps naming in its own marketing.

If you are picking up a camera like this to actually make something, the gear is only half of it. We recently rebuilt a full music video shot entirely on a phone, and the clip drew far more attention than anything that simply talked about equipment, because the framing, the movement and the grade did the work. That technique, not the price of the body, is what our Pocket Cinematic course is built around.
