We shot our own footage on the vivo X500 Pro Max, mounted on a cinema rig, and the side-by-side comparison it produced is the part worth watching twice.
This is our own video, filmed at vivo's X500 launch event in Shanghai: first in a wheat field outside the venue, then on the show floor itself.

The comparison shot: rig-mounted, 10-bit Log

That's the point vivo was making: point the X500 Pro Max at a sunset wheat field and the flat, 10-bit Log capture that comes off the sensor grades into the same cinematic look as the reference footage next to it, in the split-screen comparison at 0:08 in our video.
What the demo actually claimed
vivo's own figures for the capture mode we filmed on: 4K at up to 240fps, 10-bit Log colour, and 17 EV of dynamic range. That's the spec that lets a flat, washed-out preview pull back the sunset highlights and the shadowed wheat rows without clipping either end, which is exactly what the graded half of our comparison frame shows.
| Capture setting demoed | Figure |
|---|---|
| Resolution / frame rate | 4K at up to 240fps |
| Colour | 10-bit Log |
| Dynamic range | 17 EV |
Out of the box

Between the rig test and the launch itself, we unboxed our own unit, the same module we looked at more closely in our first-impressions review of the X500 Pro Max's clip-on ZEISS lens.
Inside the Shanghai launch

The event closed out the video: vivo walked the full X500 line on stage, from the base model through the Pro Max to the professional accessory kits built around it. It's the same generation of camera hardware we compared directly against Apple's latest in our iPhone 18 Pro unboxing.
If a rig-mounted phone shooting 10-bit Log is the kind of setup that interests you, our own Pocket Cinematic course covers building a phone filmmaking kit from the rig up.
