Hostinger's cheapest plan, Single, starts at RM3.99 a month, but it caps storage at 10GB and does not include a free domain, which most new sites need. The Premium plan at RM7.99 a month is the more useful entry point: 20GB of SSD storage, a free domain for the first year, and enough headroom for a small business site or blog. The catch is the term: that RM7.99 rate only applies if you commit and pay for 48 months upfront (RM383.52 in one payment). Renewal after that term jumps to RM22.99 a month, roughly triple the promotional rate, which is standard practice across most international hosts and rarely stated as clearly as the discount itself.
Best for a Malaysia-based data centre: Exabytes
Exabytes is a Malaysian company with servers physically in Malaysia, which matters if most of your visitors are local: a site loading from a nearby server is typically faster than one loading from Singapore or the US, and support runs in Malaysian business hours with a local billing address. Shared hosting or something bigger?
All three entry plans above are shared hosting, which is enough for a blog, a small business site or a portfolio.
