The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the top of Samsung's new foldable line, and the one that keeps the tall book shape Fold owners already know. It starts at RM8,099 in Malaysia and runs to RM10,499. Here is what that buys.

That places it RM800 above the Galaxy Z Fold8, which starts at RM7,299.
Design and display
The Ultra opens to an 8.0 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display at 2,504 x 2,256 and 422ppi, with a 6.5 inch FHD+ cover screen at 1,080 x 2,520. Both run an adaptive 1 to 120Hz refresh rate with Vision Booster.
Folded it measures 72.8 x 158.4 x 8.9mm and open it is 4.1mm thick, which Samsung says makes it its slimmest Z Fold yet. It weighs 215g.
The camera is the reason to buy it
This is where the Ultra separates itself. The rear triple camera is a 200MP wide with quad pixel autofocus, optical stabilisation, an F1.7 aperture and 2x optical quality zoom, a 50MP ultra wide at F1.9 covering 120 degrees, and a 10MP telephoto with optical stabilisation and 3x optical zoom. The Galaxy Z Fold8 has no telephoto at all, so if reach matters to you, this is the decision point.
Both the cover camera and the inner camera are 10MP. On video, the Ultra adds 8K recording through the new APV codec, Cine LUT support, HDR in 200MP mode and improved low light processing.
Chip, battery and charging
Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, with 16GB of memory on the 1TB model and 12GB on the 512GB and 256GB versions. The battery is 5,000mAh typical, rated at 4,854mAh, and 45W wired charging reaches about 67 percent in around 30 minutes. There is 20W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. It is IP48 rated.

Availability and pre order offers
Pre orders open today, 22 July, with retail availability on 14 August 2026.
