Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip8 at Galaxy Unpacked in London tonight. It is the clamshell in the new Z series, it is sleeker than the Flip7, and in Malaysia it is more expensive. Here is the full price and spec breakdown.

For context, the Galaxy Z Flip7 started at RM4,999 last year. The Flip8 therefore launches RM400 above its predecessor, which is worth noting because the Galaxy Z Fold8 went the other way and came in below the Fold7.
Design and display
The Flip8 opens to a 6.9 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display at 1,080 x 2,520 and 400ppi, with an adaptive refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz and Vision Booster. The cover screen is a 4.1 inch Super AMOLED at 948 x 1,048.
Folded it measures 75.4 x 85.7 x 13.1mm, and open it is 6.1mm thick. It weighs 180g, which makes it the lightest phone in the new Z series by some margin.
Cameras
Round the back is a dual camera: a 50MP wide with dual pixel autofocus, optical stabilisation, an F1.8 aperture and 2x optical quality zoom, paired with a 12MP ultra wide at F2.2 covering 123 degrees. The selfie camera inside is 10MP at F2.2.
Samsung is leaning on the cover screen again this year, describing the FlexWindow as AI native and built for quick interactions. In practice the most useful part remains using the better rear cameras for selfies, framed on the cover display.
Chip, battery and the rest
The Flip8 runs an Exynos 2600 with 12GB of memory in both storage options. The battery is 4,300mAh typical, with wired charging, 15W fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. It is IP48 rated and ships on Android 17 with One UI 9.

Availability and pre order offers
Pre orders open today, 22 July, with retail availability on 14 August 2026.
