AMD Brings FSR 4.1 Upscaling to Radeon RX 7000 GPUs

AMD's Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver adds FSR 4.1 AI upscaling to Radeon RX 7000 cards for the first time, free, across 300+ games.

If you game on a Radeon RX 7000 graphics card, AMD's latest driver brings its FSR 4.1 AI upscaling to your GPU for the first time, with sharper images and better performance across more than 300 games, and it costs nothing.

FSR 4.1 lands on RDNA 3

AMD has released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2, which adds FSR 4.1 upscaling to Radeon RX 7000 series cards, built on the RDNA 3 architecture. The feature launched as an exclusive to AMD's newer RDNA 4 hardware, so this is the first time RX 7000 owners get it. AMD says the rollout brings sharper image quality, improved temporal stability and better performance to more than 300 titles. The same driver also adds day-one support for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations.

What FSR 4.1 actually does

FSR, short for FidelityFX Super Resolution, renders a game at a lower resolution and uses AI to rebuild a sharper, higher-resolution image. That lifts frame rates without the usual loss of clarity you get from plain upscaling. Bringing the 4.1 version to RX 7000 means a large base of existing Radeon cards gets the newer model, rather than only the latest generation.

What is coming next

AMD says it is working on new lightweight machine learning models to bring FSR 4.1 to RDNA 3 APU players, the integrated graphics inside its processors, with more details promised later. That would extend the feature to laptops and handhelds that lean on integrated graphics rather than a separate card.

Why it matters for Malaysian gamers

Upscaling is now the main battleground between AMD, Nvidia and Intel, with Nvidia's DLSS the long-running benchmark. Pushing FSR 4.1 down to last generation Radeon cards answers a common gripe, that new features tend to arrive only on hardware you have to buy. For RX 7000 owners here, it is a free update that can stretch the life of a card you already own, which matters when GPU prices in Malaysia stay high.

How to get it

The update is available now through AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. AMD recommends using its Cleanup Utility if you ever need to roll back to an earlier driver version, which avoids leftover files causing problems.

A free driver that makes a card you already bought run newer games better is the kind of update worth installing the same week it arrives.
