Lost Castle 2 has officially left Early Access, and the timing works out nicely for Malaysian players: the full 1.0 release is now live on Steam with a 30% launch discount that brings the price down to RM31.50 (from RM45.00) for the next two weeks.
The 2D beat 'em up roguelite from Guangzhou-based Hunter Studio crossed 700,000 units sold during Early Access, with franchise lifetime sales now approaching 3 million copies. Productnation covered the 1.0 date announcement in late May, and the launch has landed on schedule alongside a new 1.0 gameplay trailer.

What's inside the Lost Castle 2 1.0 update
The headline addition is the Final Chapter, which closes out the game's story. Beyond that, the 1.0 patch is a substantial content drop rather than a version-number formality:
- Ethereal Nightmare difficulties 4 and 5 for players chasing the hardest content
- A third layer of Inscription Resonance plus new Soul Stones, opening up deeper synergistic builds
- A new final phase for the game's hidden boss
- A Chaos-themed endgame arsenal: weapons, armour, treasures and the Chaos Heart alchemy material
- A redesigned camp with a reworked talent tree and over a dozen new treasures, including the Red Soul Relic and Unstable Alchemist Barrel
- Progression systems reworked across the board, based on a year of Early Access player feedback
- The Reinforcement Beacon, an item designed with the community to mark the release
A dorm-room studio with 3 million sales
Hunter Studio is one of the quieter success stories in indie gaming. The team started in 2015 as three university friends in Guangzhou with no professional game development experience, sharing a rented apartment and a love of Monster Hunter and Dark Souls. The studio name is a nod to Bloodborne. The first Lost Castle went on to sell over a million copies, and the operation has since grown to around 40 people, with 18 of them on Lost Castle 2.
The sequel's pitch is often shortened to "Absolum meets Monster Hunter": side-scrolling brawler combat layered with hunts, loot and roguelite runs, playable solo or in co-op. Selling 700,000 copies before even reaching 1.0 suggests the formula has found its audience.
Price and availability
Lost Castle 2 is available now on Steam. For Malaysian players the launch discount prices it at RM31.50 until the 30% promotion ends in two weeks, after which it returns to RM45.00.
If you have been waiting for the complete version of a co-op brawler that respects both your time and your wallet, this is a sensible point to jump in: the full story is in, the endgame is built out, and the discount window is open.
