Malaysian players who still keep Diablo Immortal on their phone have a reason to log back in this month. Blizzard is adding a new class, the Warlock, on 17 June, and it lands free alongside the game's 5.0 update.
The Warlock is the tenth class to join Diablo Immortal. It was first teased in February at the Diablo Spotlight event as a class coming to Diablo II: Resurrected, Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal across the year. Immortal's take made its cinematic debut over the weekend during an IGN Live panel marking Diablo's 30th anniversary, with lead class designer Nan Jiang and Diablo II: Resurrected senior producer Matthew Cederquist on stage.

What the Warlock brings to Diablo Immortal
The Warlock is a hybrid that mixes ranged spellcasting with demon summoning. Rather than locking you into one role, it lets you swing between throwing infernal magic from range and directing a pack of summoned demons, sacrificing them when a fight calls for it.
Its signature companion is the Soulgorger, available from level one. The Soulgorger devours demons mid-battle to absorb their power and grow stronger as the fight goes on. Blizzard is building the class around that devour mechanic, stacked demon summons and volatile hell magic, with Legendary Gems and gear opening up different builds.
What else Update 5.0 adds
The Warlock is the headline, but Update 5.0 is more than one class. It brings a new mainline questline, opens the long-requested region of Lut Gholein, and adds three new Helliquary bosses pitched at endgame players who want tougher targets. Blizzard says the full update breakdown arrives on 16 June, a day before launch.
When Malaysians can play it
The Warlock and Update 5.0 go live on 17 June from 9am AEST, which works out to roughly 7am Malaysian time. Diablo Immortal is free to play on iOS, Android and PC, so there is no purchase required to try the new class, although the game's optional in-app spending still applies.
The takeaway
A fresh class is exactly the kind of update that pulls lapsed players back, and the Warlock's demon-commanding style looks distinct enough from Immortal's current roster to be worth a download. If you have been away from Sanctuary for a while, 17 June is a good day to head back in.
