Hybrid work in Malaysia has moved from a pandemic-era workaround to a structural reality, and now a government priority. Following announcements encouraging civil servants across ministries, agencies, and state-linked companies to adopt flexible work arrangements to offset soaring fuel costs, demand for reliable remote collaboration tools has grown in urgency.

Jabra’s response is a pair of launches that address both ends of the hybrid work setup: the Evolve3 headset series for individuals, and the PanaCast Room Kit for meeting rooms.

Why Hybrid Work Hardware Matters More Right Now

The backdrop matters here. The oil crisis has accelerated government-led efforts to adopt remote and hybrid arrangements across the region, and Malaysia is among the countries that have formalised this guidance. A 2024 Zoom survey cited in Jabra’s research found that 75% of employees feel their hybrid work software needs improvement, and 72% want more investment in collaboration technology. Those figures point to a market actively seeking better tools.

Jabra’s own Certification Study found that 83% of knowledge workers say poor audio quality negatively affects their online meetings, yet 46% are still using consumer-grade headsets for professional calls. That gap is the market Jabra is targeting with the Evolve3 series.

Jabra Evolve3 Series: AI Audio Without the Boom Arm

The Evolve3 lineup is Jabra’s most advanced professional headset family to date. Both models — the over-ear Evolve3 85 and the on-ear Evolve3 75 — use a boomless design, which means voice pickup is handled entirely by an AI-enhanced multi-microphone array rather than a physical boom arm. The underlying technology is Jabra ClearVoice, a deep neural network trained on more than 60 million real-world sentences to isolate speech from background noise.

This technology is a meaningful step for professional headsets. Boom arms have long been the standard in office audio precisely because they put the microphone closer to the mouth. Jabra is betting that DNN-based processing has reached a level where physical proximity is no longer necessary for professional-quality voice capture.

Both models also include Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation that adjusts based on the user’s environment and headset fit, Spatial Sound for more natural call audio, and support for Secure Bluetooth Low Energy with Google Fast Pair — no dongle required. UC-certified variants are available for Teams and other major platforms, with the Jabra Plus mobile app managing firmware updates and audio settings.

Evolve3 85 (Over-Ear) — RM 3,000

The 85 is the flagship of the two. The over-ear design provides greater noise isolation, making it the better choice for louder environments or extended focus work. Battery life is rated at 25 hours of call time, or up to 120 hours of audio playback with ANC and the busylight switched off. A 10-minute fast charge delivers 10 hours of use. The headset folds flat and ships with a compact carry case.

Evolve3 75 (On-Ear) — RM 2,300

The 75 takes the same core audio technology in a lighter, more compact form factor. The on-ear design provides greater situational awareness, making it useful for workers who move around or need to stay tuned into their physical environment. Battery life is 22 hours of call time or 110 hours of playback, with the same 10-minute fast charge to 10 hours. It is the more travel-friendly option of the two.

Shared features across both models:

  • Boomless design with Jabra ClearVoice AI multi-microphone pickup
  • Adaptive ANC is active during calls
  • Spatial Sound for natural call experience
  • Up to 37 hours battery; 10-min fast charge → 10 hours of use
  • Secure Bluetooth Low Energy, Google Fast Pair, no dongle needed
  • UC-certified variants for major meeting platforms
  • Jabra Plus app for configuration and firmware updates

Jabra PanaCast Room Kit: Intelligent Video for Rooms of Every Size

While the Evolve3 handles individual audio, the PanaCast Room Kit addresses the other half of the hybrid equation: the meeting room. Available in configurations of one, three, or five cameras, the kit scales to fit spaces from small huddle rooms to large boardrooms, and is built for plug-and-play deployment.

The centrepiece is the PanaCast 55 VBS, a video bar that supports multi-camera expansion and delivers 180-degree panoramic video with on-device AI framing. The PanaCast SpeakerMic handles audio coverage and serves as an extension microphone, designed to capture voices evenly, regardless of where participants are seated.

The multi-camera system uses Huddly Crew technology — now part of the Jabra portfolio — with AI-driven speaker tracking and intelligent director modes that switch between camera vantage points as the conversation moves around the room. The result is that remote participants see the active speaker rather than a static wide shot of an empty conference table.

Local pricing for the PanaCast Room Kit runs from MYR 35,000 to MYR 75,000, depending on configuration, with availability expected in Q2 2026.

The Bigger Picture

Jabra’s Evolve3 and PanaCast launches are well-positioned for the current moment. As hybrid and remote arrangements become more formalised both by employer policy and government guidance, the bar for what constitutes acceptable audio and video quality at work is rising.

The shift to boomless AI audio in the Evolve3 series is the most technically interesting development here. If Jabra’s DNN-based voice isolation performs consistently in real-world conditions, it removes one of the last remaining arguments for sticking with a boom-arm headset in a professional context. That is a significant claim, and one worth testing before committing at the MYR 2,300 to 3,000 price point.

At its price point, the PanaCast Room Kit is firmly in enterprise territory. But for organisations rationalising their office footprint and needing meeting rooms that work seamlessly for both in-person and remote participants, the multi-camera intelligent framing approach is a practical solution to a genuinely difficult problem.

Where to Buy

Jabra Evolve3 85 (MYR 3,000) and Evolve3 75 (MYR 2,300) are available now on Jabra’s official Shopee and Lazada stores. The PanaCast Room Kit (MYR 35,000–MYR 75,000) is expected to be available locally in Q2 2026.
