Smarter Sleep with Samsung Health + SmartThings

Samsung is now syncing SmartThings with Samsung Health data to help users improve their sleep quality using automation. It's capable of environmental data tracking which includes CO₂ levels, ambient light, humidity, and temperature reading.
When paired with a Galaxy Watch or the Galaxy Ring, SmartThings can automatically:
- Adjust aircon or fan based on temperature or humidity
- Turn off lights and devices once sleep is detected
- Open curtains or start soft music in the morning
Routine Scheduling Just Got Smarter
Samsung has added recurring routines (weekly, monthly, or yearly), letting users schedule automations for events like birthdays, cleaning cycles, or family movie nights. You can even create unique light colour profiles or air purifier settings depending on the day or event.
Via SmartThings, you can get your Samsung TV Plus to:
- Auto-tune to your favourite channel at set times
- Turn off the TV when bedtime is detected
Broadcasting Voice Messages to Your Whole Home
There's now a new feature that allows you to use SmartThings-connected speakers to act as an intercom system. This is great (and fun) for announcing to family members that dinner is ready.
Example, just send a voice message (“Lunch is ready!”) from your phone to play in the living room, kitchen, or even your child’s room. This is handy to use for large families, double-storey homes, or working parents.
Matter 1.4 Support and Calm Onboarding
SmartThings also now support Matter 1.4, which expands compatibility to more devices such as solar panels, water heaters, heat pumps, and battery storage systems.
SmartThings also improves Calm Onboarding, helping users to set up third-party devices more easily, or get real-time delivery + pairing instructions if purchased via Samsung.com.
As more Malaysians adopt solar panels and hybrid home systems, Matter 1.4 support means easier integration. This update certainly makes SmartThings far more practical, especially for families, home owners, and anyone juggling multiple smart appliances.
