- Display: 11.5-inch IPS LCD, 2800 x 1840 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate
- Dimensions: 259.1 x 176.1 x 6.1 mm
- Weight: 475g
The HONOR Pad V9 is notable for its screen quality, sporting an 11.5-inch 2.8K IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. With its sizeable screen, turn the Pad V9 to its side profile and you'll be greeted by its ultra-thin profile which stands at 6.1mm thickness, and weighing approximately 475g.
With a purchase of the HONOR Pad V9, you'll also get the Honor Pencil 3 stylus and a smart Bluetooth keyboard, which greatly enhances its value as a productivity-focused product.
If you add on the detachable Bluetooth Keyboard, you'll experience added weight which can bulk it up to an additional 200g (unfortunately).
Overall, the Pad V9 is an elegant-looking tablet. Our unit came with a leather-like case that allows seamless fit for the "magnetic" keyboard to attach to securely.
Processor & Battery

- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Elite
- Memory: 24GB RAM+256GB ROM WiFi (12GB HONOR RAM Turbo included)
- Battery: 10,100mAh with 66W fast charging
In the HONOR Pad V9 you'll be granted the power of MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Elite chipset. On the Pad V9 you will get 12GB RAM and 256GB worth of storage which is the only configuration for the tablet. Thanks to tech advancements, HONOR Pad V9 also has RAM expansion which allows HONOR RAM Turbo to draw extra power from ROM to gather another 12GB of RAM.
Battery for the Pad V9 is a substantial 10,100mAh battery that can charge with up to 66W fast charging (35W globally), providing extended usage.
Camera & Audio

- Rear: 13MP camera (Fno2.0 AF)
- Front: 8MP camera (F2.0 FF)
- Audio: 8 speakers with IMAX Enhanced and DTS:X support
The HONOR Pad V9 has an 8MP front lens and rear 13MP lens with LED flash, which is capable of 4K@30fps video recording. Do note that as specifications are not the highest, this is not a tablet to be using for photography and videography. However, they're perfectly clear and sharp enough to have calls on, or to take a photo of documents and likewise without much issue.
Within the camera app, you also get to use extensive editing tools and even AI features like AI Eraser (generative AI).
In terms of audio, you'll get to enjoy entertainment with its 8-speaker setup, which are of IMAX and DTS:X, to deliver an immersive sound experience. Although it sounds like a gimmick, we find the speakers to delivered audio quite well, boasting directional audio and loud volume that are clear (tested at half volume).
UI & OS

- Operating System: Android 15 with MagicOS 9
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C 2.0
Running on Android 15 with MagicOS 9, the UI and app icons on the HONOR Pad V9 is clean and easy to understand. What's great is that there's hardly any bloatware to be seen, giving off a clean tablet experience that awaits our customisation.
Pad V9 also features several AI-driven productivity tools. You can look forward to features like AI Suggestion which recommend apps based on your usage habits, Magic Text which extracts text from images, and Magic Portal which lets you access a drawer of tools geared towards efficient use of AI and such.
If you're a fan of taking notes down with a tablet and stylus, HONOR Pad V9 is a great choice due to its included keyboard MagicPen 3 and AI Notes which lets you do AI voice recording, AI typesetting and such.
What we like
Screen

The Pad V9's 11.5-inch screen feels adequate and smooth to use as well as expansive to admire. We found the screen to be of a good size that is also compact enough for us to play combat games comfortably (using a controller is still best). Visuals on the screen also looks clear and vibrant without looking too articificial.
Battery
While 10,000 mAh battery feels small on a tablet, HONOR Pad V9 has optimised the battery quite well. We could run MMO games on auto-battle for over 2 hours and the battery would've drained just about 10-15% of power capacity in total.
Leaving the tablet on idle is also not an issue. At the time of writing, the tablet's 47% battery left would still garner us about 30 hours worth of use (estimated by system).
Keyboard & MagicPen 3

We applaud HONOR for making productivity-based tablets more accessible and value-for-money in the small realm of tablets available on the market. At the time of writing, HONOR is giving out a set of the magnetic keyboard and MagicPen 3 for every HONOR Pad V9 order.

Aside from value, the HONOR magnetic keyboard was also comfortable to type on, and very responsive to connection as well as key input. You can also enjoy the magnetic charging on the tablet to quickly charge and connect to the MagicPen 3 via Bluetooth.
A small quip we had was the irregular movement of the cursor when using the keyboard's trackpad for navigation.
UI & OS

I am not not the biggest fan of Android UI, so it's always a hit or miss for me to find what I want from my Android products. With that said, the UI and UX of the HONOR Pad V9 was quite straightforward and clean to enjoy. I could easily navigate and optimise placement of my apps without struggling to move thigns around.
The use of AI tools are also easy and straightforward. Hence, having this tablet for family use is also a good choice.
What we disliked
Weight & Portability

If you are planning to carry the HONOR Pad V9 as an additional gadget to use on top of your laptop, beware as the total weight of the tablet and keyboard together will add on another half of a kilogram. Because of its compact size, weight distribution becomes a little uneven when being carried in your bag.
Not only that; portability becomes a minor issue. While the keyboard attaches well and securely to the tablet, I find it weird that the MagicPen 3's magnetic placement is exposed to movement since it sits outside of the case. Therefore, carrying the stylus around feels like an extra step to the user experience of portability in gadgets.
Storage Option
The HONOR Pad V9 only comes in one configuration, which is 12GB + 12GB RAM, and 256GB ROM. For a product that's geared towards productivity and entertainment, it's a bit disapppointing to learn that storage memory is not expandable. This option will feel quite limiting and requires additional reliance on cloud storage and such.
Verdict

At RM1,999, the HONOR Pad V9 is neither budget nor on the higher end category. Instead, we find the HONOR Pad V9 to be flexible with what it can offer; a smooth and fast user experience as well as equipped adequately with its few producitivity accessories and apps. Its hardware is also primed for entertainment.
While it lacks certain features like cellular connectivity and expandable storage, these omissions are understandable given its price point. If you're in the market for a versatile Android tablet that offers excellent value for money, the Honor Pad V9 is certainly worth considering.
