The new vivo V50 is one of the brand's recent flagships that promises a feature-rich smartphone catered to both performance enthusiasts and photography aficionados. In a sea of smartphones trying to outdo each other with a specific feature, vivo V50 is crafted with the aims to provide a harmonious, balanced user experience that's fit for all.

First Impression

- Body & Screen Design

We've gotten a hold of a gorgeous Ancora Red vivo v50 model, also known as Rose Red in international market according to GSMarena. Its back body material isn't disclosed online, but the materials used felt like a mix of plastic and aluminium, with its finish feeling quite slippery and smooth. Thankfully there's a clear complimentary case that comes with phone to protect it.

At first glance, the vivo V50, seemingly with a screen at least 6 inches wide, features curved edges, but upon touch the vivo V50 feels comfortable to hold.

At the sides are the volume and power button, with microphones at the top and speakers at the bottom of the phone.

Moreover, vivo V50 is designed to not let everyday life stop you from using it. According to GSMArena, the phone has an IP68 & IP69 rating, making it resistant against water and dust.

- Zeiss-Imaging For Camera

This is another phone that has its imaging system co-engineered with Zeiss optics. Specifically, there's a dual rear camera set up with a single front camera, which GSMArena points out at 50MP for both.

Complementing the rear camera (at the back) is vivo's signature fill light called Aura Light. With these limited information in mind, we look forward to seeing if the camera and Aura Light can capture night shots well with adequate lighting.

- Durability & Performance

With the latest trend of phones featuring a slim profile with a big battery pack, GSMArena says the vivo v50 holds a 6000mAh Battery pack with just 189g of body weight.

Moreover, Mashable India said that vivo v50 is slated to receive up to 5 years of security updates.

Running with 15 TouchOS (based on Android 15), and a starting 8GB RAM with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, we're interested to see how well it performs considering the fact that many flagships are using the more premium Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

Stay tuned for the review!
