If you had watched the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 in January which released the Galaxy S25 series, you might've known that they teased a "new variant". This phone was called "Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge".
The teaser left us feeling like deers in the headlights and we aren't sure what to think about it. We heard that it was shown on display at the Unpacked event held in San Jose, California, which we didn't get to attend.
We had known that there were speculations of a new phone called "Slim", as in, Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim. But now most media confirmed that's indeed the same "Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge". Is this a rugged phone? A special curved-screen phone? A reminisce of the old Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge?
So far, here are the solid (hardware) features it has.
According to Tom's Guide, the Galaxy S25 Edge is a slim one. It's said to have a profile of 6.4mm thinness, compared to the 8.2mm on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. We'd be afraid to sit on this phone in our pants' back pocket if it comes into our hands.
The phone is so slim, that Tom's Guide said the camera portusion was quite apparent. Therefore it's safe to assume that the slim profile is designed to benefit its weight factor, given that most smartphones now are set in a standard screen size between 5-inch to 6-inch.
Like Sammobile, it was also reported that the Galaxy S25 Edge has two rear cameras. There are no news on what the megapixels are on there, but we're hoping it comes with the Galaxy S25 Ultra's 50MP ultrawide lens, because that's a gamechanger for landscape shots.
It's said that the phone wouldn't be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series, and instead be released much later this year instead. From this, we gathered that it might be a replacement of the FE series, since the FE variant have once been missed on the Galaxy S22 series.
