The latest Samsung Galaxy S25 series is once again headlining the smartphone industry for its annual Unpacked event. With so many stories and products to focus on, we decided to highlight the 3 most important factors to know about the series, especially if you're trying to upgrade to the series.

The Galaxy S25 Series is AI-centered

Given the success on Galaxy AI since its introduction in 2023, it's not surprising to see Samsung continue on its traction to weave enhancements and refinery into the new Galaxy S25 series.

This year, Samsung introduces multimodal AI agents, making the Galaxy S25 series the first step in Samsung’s vision to change the way users interact with their phone – and with their world.

Supercharging Galaxy AI is the first-of-its-kind customised Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy chipset, thus you can expect greater delivery of processing power for Galaxy AI.

More Galaxy AI Enhancements:

  • Google Gemini can connect effortlessly with Samsung, Google, and supported third-party apps, so you can use the voice assistant to look up just about anything you want.
  • Productivity tool Call Transcript can transcribe your calls and summarize them with one tap of a button
  • Writing Assist, no longer confined to just the Samsung Notes app, can summarize content or reformat notes in your current app.
  • Drawing Assist lets you combine sketches, text, and images to bring ideas to life.
  • For photo or video editing, features like Virtual Aperture help achieve a DSLR-style depth-of-field effects and Audio Eraser, which can remove unwanted sounds from your videos.

12GB RAM For All Galaxy S25 Models

Speaking of processing power, the nice cherry on top is that the entire series now comes with a minimum of 12GB RAM. So the high RAM isn't just for the flagships, but now for the Galaxy S25 base as well as the Galaxy S25+ model.

While the Snapdragon 8 Elite is already known for its prowess to deliver seamless experience in gaming and AI activities, the addition to the 12GB RAM for the series is a nice bonus to ensure you get the most out of your phone at once for productivity.

There's a Boost For Photo and Videography

Part of the package that the Snapdragon 8 Elite has is its influence on superior camera range and control over Galaxy’s next-gen ProVisual Engine.

Now with a new 50MP ultrawide camera sensor upgraded from the previous 12MP, the Galaxy S25 Ultra provides exceptional clarity and vibrancy much like what you can get from DSLRs. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 and S25+ retain the same camera specifications from the Galaxy S24 series with a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.

Now, videography is where the shining features show in the Galaxy S25 series.

10-bit HDR recording is now applied by default, offering four times richer colour expression compared to 8-bit, making it flexible for different lighting conditions.

Based on powerful processor, the Galaxy S25 series can also analyse movement and time to reduce noise more effectively.

The other game-change for videography is that the series has Galaxy Log, designed to enhance video production by offering advanced options for video during post editing.

These are the 3 biggest takeaways for the series. Will you be purchasing the Galaxy S25 series? Make sure to enjoy their pre-order promos until 13 February 2025.
