It’s 2025, and you know what that means? — We’re getting the new Samsung Galaxy S series lineup!

Early this morning, Samsung held their biannual Samsung Unpacked event in San Jose, California, where they unveiled the brand new Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Consisting of three models, here’s our first impression of the middle child, the Samsung Galaxy S25+!

Design & Battery

It’s not a surprise that the Samsung Galaxy S25+ has the same design as the Galaxy S25—which also looks very similar to the Galaxy S24 (base) and Galaxy S24+. Featuring a lightweight aluminium chassis paired with Corning Gorilla Glass, the design looks sleek, perfect for minimalists.

The Galaxy S25+ is also slimmer altogether, at only 7.3mm thick and 190g. Despite the thinner chassis, it still retains the 4,900 mAh battery capacity with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.

That said, the battery specs haven’t changed since the Galaxy S23 series, so they do feel somewhat stagnant compared to other competitors who offer larger batteries and faster charging.

On the bright side, Samsung has introduced the Qi2 standard and new Magnet Cases, which adds versatility to charging for this generation.

Display & Camera

The Galaxy S25+ sports a 6.7-inch LTPO display with 1440+ resolution, which is the same paper specifications as the Galaxy S24+. Not to say that it’s a bad thing—the screen remains vibrant and sharp.

On the camera front, the Galaxy S25+ has a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Again, these specs are inherited directly from the Galaxy S24+, so it’s not even an incremental upgrade—it’s stagnant.

Under the Hood

Like its two siblings, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It also has 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be the first phones to adopt the new OneUI 7.0, which introduces a redesigned interface and more Galaxy AI features. Powered by Google Gemini, the Galaxy S25+ will also come with advanced AI writing tools and the Now Bar, an intuitive notification organiser.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ brings modest refinements to the table, including a slimmer, lighter design, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a fresh One UI 7 experience. But with a largely unchanged battery, display, and camera setup, it does sound more of an incremental upgrade than ever.

So, is it worth upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S25+? Honestly, it’s too early to tell—keep an eye out for our full review coming soon!
