The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 was certainly one of the top choices in Malaysia for those who wanted a powerful smartphone that opens like a foldable tablet and performs amazingly. It helped that the improved hinge and upgraded processor made it a little different from the Galaxy Z Fold4.
Now, it's time to take a first look at the Galaxy Z Fold6 and see how it fares.

Design & Display
I'm sure you're all wondering if Samsung is decided to make the Galaxy Z Fold6 wider and more like a normal phone—well, the first part is right, but the Galaxy Z Fold6 is still narrow and feels rather like a remote control. Why fix what isn't broken, right?
The Galaxy Z Fold6 has a 6.3” cover screen this time, which is about 0.1 inch bigger than its predecessor, and opens up to a 7.6" main screen for adequate viewing and for performing most tasks. What's changed is that its body is now more durable against dust; the Galaxy Z Fold6 is now IP48-rated, which is an upgrade from the IPX8 rating in Galaxy Z Fold5.
Like the Galaxy Z Flip6, the Galaxy Z Fold6 is also one of the thinnest and lightest foldable Samsung has produced to date!
Performance & Battery
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is strictly available only in Snapdragon—the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy to be precise, just like the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra—so there's no need for any geo politics between fans. Its battery life is about hours. As usual, we will have to test to see how well it'll last in a day.
The highlight of the Galaxy Z Fold6, just like all the other launches today and probably next year too, is Galaxy AI, and Samsung hasn't disappointed. Apart from the AI features like Note Asisst, the Galaxy Z Fold6 also comes with all-new, made-for-foldable features, like Composer, which is built into the Samsung Keyboard and generates suggested text based on keywords. There's also Sketch to Image, which allows you to turn your simple sketches into actual drawings!
There are also other features, like an integrated Google Gemini app, Intepreter, and of course, my favourite Circle to Search. We can't wait to explore all of these features, so stay tuned for our full review in the coming weeks!
Camera
For this year, the Galaxy Z Fold6 will have a MP main camera and MP ultrawide lens. Similar to Galaxy Z Flip6, the Z Fold6's camera also has features like Camcorder mode and improved night videography.
