In a bid to combat plastic waste in our oceans, Watsons has unveiled the Naturals by Watsons’ Special Edition Algae range across markets in Hong Kong, Thailand, and Taiwan. The initiative, set to expand to Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore, aims to raise awareness and take action against the detrimental effects of ocean-bound plastic pollution.

The launch of the Special Edition Algae range marks a crucial milestone in Watsons' ongoing sustainability efforts, urging customers to prioritize eco-friendly choices while caring for their skin and the planet simultaneously.
In conjunction with Earth Day, Watsons Malaysia is set to introduce the "Dives into Blue Beauty with Naturals by Watsons" program. This initiative coincides with the launch of the Naturals by Watsons’ Special Edition Algae range in Malaysia in May 2024. Through collaboration with Reef Check Malaysia, Watsons Malaysia aims to support coral reef monitoring and marine conservation efforts. The program will include Marine Conservation Talks and hands-on activities such as reef restoration, inviting both divers and non-divers to participate.
The Naturals by Watsons’ Special Edition Algae range offers a selection of personal care products formulated with over 94% natural origin ingredients. Each bottle is crafted from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic, allowing customers to make sustainable choices while enjoying high-quality skincare solutions. This initiative aligns with Watsons' commitment to reducing the overall impact of plastics used in its exclusive brand packaging.
Customers can support the cause by purchasing products from the Algae range during the pre-launch online sale from April 22nd to 29th, 2024, with the full range available in-store and online from May 14th, 2024 onwards. Special promotions include discounts and a free reusable beach bag with purchases exceeding RM50 at selected Watsons stores and online.
