Paying homage to the boot that marked its debut three decades ago, adidas has unveiled its latest addition to the iconic Predator franchise, the Predator 24. The Predator 24 combines the pure nostalgia of the '90s with the high-performance features of today, offering a boot for a new generation of goalscorers!
"The Predator 1994 was the silhouette that started it all, and there is no better way to celebrate 30 years of this game-changing franchise than to revisit its early beginnings. If the Predator 1994 was designed today, for today's athlete, what would it look like? The answer is Predator 24,” said Sam Handy, VP of Product and Design at adidas.
Drawing inspiration from the original Predator silhouette while incorporating modern design elements, the Predator 24 showcases the iconic black, white, and red colourway, accentuated by vibrant yellow taping. It comes in three executions to cater to different preferences: laced, laceless, and a classic laced version with a fold-over tongue, providing a touch of nostalgia.
While the Predator boots have evolved with each generation, they have maintained their core DNA of bold aesthetics, technical superiority, and confident design. Key design features of the Predator 24 include:
- CONTROLFRAME 2.0 – A lightweight soleplate and heel construction that optimises traction for dynamic movement and ball-striking stability.
- HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 – An upper that provides a moulded fit with cushioning in key contact areas for comfort and a soft touch on the ball.
- STRIKESKIN – Rubber fins strategically placed in strike zones to support ball grip for precision shot-making.
- STRETCHABLE LACELESS PRIMEKNIT COLLAR – Allows for easy entry and secure lockdown.
- LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN – The Laceless Elite version is the lightest boot in the franchise to date, weighing just 195g in size 8.5.
Celebrating Predator’s 30th Anniversary
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Predator franchise, adidas Malaysia launched the "World of Predator" exhibition at The Exchange, TRX, on 1 February 2024.
The event was attended by David Beckham and select adiClub members; and showcased the legacy and history of the Predator boot through an archive walk featuring each boot's unique technology, including the personal collection of Mohamad Anas Faiz bin Mohamad Amin, a Predator fan.
The exhibition will be open to adiClub Members and offer engaging activities, photo corners, and retail space with adidas football gear. Expect the best of adidas football gear to be on display for attendees to experience and purchase at the exhibit.
