Apple has just rolled out a budget-friendly version of the Apple Pencil, but now with USB-C charging port! Following the launch of the USB-C iPhone 15 Series just earlier last month, it seems that Apple is truly "heading to the Cs" this year.
Priced at RM399, the new Apple Pencil comes complete with a sliding cap that uncovers the USB-C port. While we've already got a price on the Apple Malaysia website, it seems that there's still no definite date at which the new Apple Pencil will be available here, but some online sources have alleged that it will be available in early November.
The new USB-C Apple Pencil can be used with a vast array of iPads, which includes:
- Third to sixth-gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro
- First to fourth-gen 11-inch iPad Pro
- Fourth and fifth-gen iPad Air
- 10th-gen iPad
- Sixth-gen iPad Mini
Apple's innovation trail with the Pencil had seen a significant leap in 2018 with the launch of the Apple Pencil 2. A substantial upgrade from its predecessor, it came packed with wireless charging, a magnetic side attachment feature for iPads, and gesture controls. But with great features came a steeper price tag of RM599.
Obviously, this new Apple Pencil with the smaller price tag is quite the relief for students and budget iPad-ers around. We certainly look forward to it!
