You Can Now Operate Different Home Appliance Brands At Once With LG's New HCA Specifications - CES 2023

Even when you are outside, you can operate the appliances remotely.

At the recent CES 2023, LG introduced the new Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) Specification 1.0 for their smart home appliances, which enables interoperability between smart home solutions from different HCA member brands to function together without any disruption.

During the event, the latest LG smart home appliances such as MoodUP refrigerators, WashTower laundry washers, ARTCOOL Gallery air conditioners, PuriCare AeroTower air purifiers, were showcased.

About Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA)

HCA's "Any app to any device" concept was on display for visitors to check out, allowing them to see how they can control their home appliances from any brand using the respective company's smart control app, such as LG's user-friendly ThinQ application.

It is through this LG ThinQ app that you can connect easily with your LG appliances in a way you never could before. Even when you are outside, you can operate the appliances remotely.

The new HCA Specification 1.0 has been established to ensure that home appliances from different brands, like TVs and HVAC systems, can interoperate by using existing industry standards to define Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) interoperability guidelines.

Furthermore, HCA Specification 1.0 will help make smart homes more sustainable, leveraging data collected across alliance members’ appliances to gain helpful insight and improve energy management.

For those who have purchased recently-released models, you can keep using your existing HCA Specification 1.0-compliant smart home appliances and HVAC solutions without updating the underlying firmware.
