ASUS ROG To Release A Lineup Of Upgraded Laptops Ahead Of CES 2023

Keep a lookout on this year's tech releases from ASUS ROG!

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced a lineup of upgraded flagship gaming laptops, along with major enhancements to the already known Intelligent Cooling Technology at CES 2023. The upgrade will see brand new Intel 13th Gen and AMD Ryzen Zen 4 processors, GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs from NVIDIA, as well as improved Nebula Displays added to the ASUS ROG Strix, Zephyrus and Flow laptops.

ROG Strix SCAR

The Strix SCAR laptops will be renamed, and the chassis has been changed to fit the larger 16-inch and 18-inch 16:10 screens. Equipped with ROG’s new QHD, 240Hz Nebula HDR Display with Mini LED technology, the new Strix SCAR 16 and 18 gaming laptops have also been upgraded with Intel’s latest 13th-Gen i9 13980HX processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU for unrivalled laptop gaming performance. As for the Strix SCAR 17, it will boast an AMD Ryzen 4 processor instead. The Strix G16, G17 and G18 received a major RTX 4090 Laptop GPU upgrade too.

Both the Strix SCAR 17 and Strix G17 of 2023 feature Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on the CPU, but the SCAR 17 also has a custom vapour chamber for even better cooling. To further enhance the immersive experience, ROG's revolutionary Nebula Display is available to any ROG Strix model.

ROG Zephyrus

Also receiving significant upgrades are the light and thin ROG Zephyrus gaming laptops. The ROG Zephyrus M16 gaming laptop is now redesigned and powered by the Intel Core i9 13900H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. As for the display, it will sport a 16-inch, QHD Nebula HDR Display, 240Hz and 100% DCI-P3 coverage with Mini-LED technology. It's also the first 16-inch ROG laptop equipped with AniMe Matrix LED lighting array, which lets you flaunt your individuality and gaming creativity in any environment.

Other laptops from the Zephyrus series as also received major upgrades to their CPU, GPU and display too. The ROG Zephyrus G16 now boasts an Intel Core i9 13900H CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with a MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, while the G14 equips the AMD Ryzen 4 processor instead, being ROG’s first 14-inch laptop with a Nebula HDR display. On the other hand, the Zephyrus Duo 16 has been upgraded with an AMD Ryzen Zen 4 processor with 16 cores and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU with a 16-inch Mini LED panel and a 4K touchscreen display.

ROG Flow

The 2023 Flow family now features completely new hardware upgrades. OG Flow X13 now comes with up to an AMD Ryzen 4 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU, as well as ultrafast 32GB LPDDR5 RAM. Its redesigned chassis allows for more ventilation and has a grip-enhancing, gravitational-wave-inspired texture on the aluminium lid. The new Flow X13's touchscreen QHD, 165 Hz Nebula display on a 360° hinge makes it a versatile gaming machine that can be used in any situation.

This year, the Flow Z13 was upgraded with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, with a TGP of up to 65W while sporting the impressive 13-inch QHD 165 Hz refresh rate Nebula Display. At long last, the ROG Flow X16 has been upgraded with the latest Intel Core i9 13900H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs, each of which features a MUX Switch and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.

The refresh rate of its Nebula HDR Mini LED touchscreen display is an impressive 240Hz, and not to mention, the Corning Gorilla Glass DXC featured on all upcoming ROG Flow laptops in 2023 is a special coating that increases hardness by 40% while significantly reducing surface reflections, making the Flow family easier to use than ever before in bright environments.

Interestingly, ASUS ROG will also introduce the brand-new XG Mobile, an external graphics dock with the incredible horsepower of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, which provides extra loads of ports to pair with your ROG Flow laptops.

ROG has also improved its Intelligent Cooling technology, which is an answer that strikes a fine balance between cooling performance and noise levels. In 2023, ROG expanded the use of two of the Flow X16's groundbreaking features, a larger full-width heatsink and Tri-Fan Technology, to their laptops. The Tri-Fan Technology improves the thermal design of the GPU, allowing it to dissipate excess heat more effectively while still providing necessary airflow to internal components. Paired with the new full-width heatsinks, this cooling technology allows the laptops to reach unheard-of heights in performance without compromising on noise levels.

Pricing and Availability

As of now, the newly upgraded ROG laptops will not be available in Malaysia, but we can expect ASUS to make further announcements following CES 2023.
