Remember when Twitter had that iconic blue bird logo, that was instantly recognisable even from afar? Do you remember when posts were called “Tweets”? Well, you can say goodbye to those things (and possibly many more) that made this once-great app. Twitter has become a completely different app altogether—except this time it's literal.
Elon Musk has recently Tweeted that the app will rebrand the logo to an ‘X’ with a black background, as shown in the image above. This means they will be moving on from the once well-known blue bird logo. It should be noted that there is no confirmation if the format and layout of the app will be changed, or if the app will still be called Twitter; however, considering Twitter changed the company name to X Corp, it just might happen.
In another more recent tweet, Elon Musk posted a video that shows what the logo is most likely to look like, which we will insert below for you to check out. In the video, you can see it changing from the blue bird to a white and flickering ‘X’, to tease what’s about to come.
Another question that should be asked is, what other changes await Twitter? Would our Tweets still be Tweets, or would we be calling them X-es? Since Elon took over the app, unnecessary and mostly meaningless changes have been made, including the infamous Twitter Blue fiasco and the recent post limits. All these gave birth to a competitor from Meta, boldly named after one of Twitter's features, Threads.
If you're hoping that Twitter gets back to its once-former glory, from the looks of it, that probably won’t happen. It's not really going anywhere, but for now, all we can do is wait to see what other things Elon has in store for Twitter.
