Acer Announces New Lineup, Including Laptops for Gaming and Productivity

Four laptops and two desktops for all your computing needs!

Acer has recently announced the release of multiple products this year. With four laptops and two desktops, you can choose from a few great options that will suit your daily computing needs. The laptops include the Acer Swift 14, Swift Go 14, Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18, and the Acer Aspire 7. The desktop towers include the Predator Orion 3000 and the Acer Nitro 50.

The Latest in Acer’s Swift Series

The Acer Swift Go and Acer Swift 14 come with an air inlet design, paired with Acer’s TwinAir dual-fan system and a D6 copper heat pipe for increased airflow to keep the new and slim laptops cool. They also come with FHD webcams, Temporal Noise Reduction technology, Acer PurifiedVoice, and AI Noise Reduction to keep up with the work-from-anywhere lifestyle. Both laptops also come with fingerprint sensors on the power button for easy login and to prevent typing your password in public.

The Acer Swift Go is made for the younger, more energetic generation who prefer to work or study while on the go. The Swift Go comes in a 14.9mm aluminium chassis, making it thin enough to fit in your bag and light enough to be carried with its 1.25kg weight. Forgot your charger? No problem, this laptop has 13 hours of battery life so you can use it all day while at work or university. 

This thin and light laptop comes with a 14-inch FHD IPS display, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and ultra-slim bezels which measure up to 4.15mm. The processor is AMD Ryzen 7 7730U, and 16GB RAM with 512GB SSD. So you can enjoy a laptop with a fast response time and smooth multitasking whenever you need to.

Acer’s Latest in Next-Level Gaming Performance Laptops

The latest in the Predator Helios series, the Helios 16 and Helios 18 come with 13th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs. Apart from that, Acer also announced the Acer Aspire 7 which comes with a 12th Gen Intel Core H-series processor.

The latest in Acer’s gaming laptops will provide ultra-efficient multitasking capability and upgraded thermals that keep you captivated in your favourite games. The processor for both of these laptops is the 13th Gen Intel Core i9 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. 

They also have NVIDIA Ada Lovelace which gives you higher GPU performance and AI-powered neural graphics. Both the Helios 16 and Helios 18 have 32GB RAM and up to 2 TB SSD, making them powerful pieces for you to play the most demanding AAA games.        

The Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 have 16-inch and 18-inch displays respectively. Both models have a resolution of 2560x1600 which has up to 240 Hz refresh rate. The laptops have 500 nits brightness with 100% coverage of DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. So, you can immerse yourself in stunning clarity and lifelike colours.  

Don’t worry about the device heating up either since they come with powerful and enhanced 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fans, and rectangle-shaped vector heat pipes for better heat dissipation. They will also have printed liquid metal thermal grease for increased heat transfer, for those long and intense gaming sessions where you need your laptop to remain cool.  

Design-wise, the Helios 16 and Helios 18 come with a matte black chassis with narrower bezels and streamlined edges. At the back of the laptop, there are multiple ports and on the top of the back vents, it has an RGB light bar which you can customize to your liking. There’s also a detachable thermal deco set at the vents that you can personalize with your own design.

Speaking of design, the keyboard has 1.8mm key travel and anti-ghosting N-key rollover this means you won't have a limit on which combinations of keys you can press simultaneously, accompanied by RGB backlighting modules that allow for smooth dynamic effects that don’t use too much power while helping in expelling heat. It also comes with a Mode key so you can instantly switch between Quiet, Balanced, Performance, and Turbo modes, and a PredatorSense key that takes you to the app to adjust the settings based on how you want it. 

The new laptops come with PredatorSense 4 which has new features like Scenario Manager which lets you create personal profiles for different gaming setups and allows for system settings optimization and monitoring. In terms of battery life, they come with NVIDIA Advance Optimus which gives longer battery usage by dynamically switching between integrated and discrete graphics.

The Helios 16 and Helios 18 will be available in May 2023 and the retail price will be from RM 8,999. However, you can also pre-order to get freebies worth more than RM 1,600 at selected stores listed below.

It has 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD capable of fast-loading and storing lots of documents or games, while also giving you additional SSD and RAM so you can upgrade them should you wish to.    

You can get the Acer Aspire 7 for the price of RM 3,199 by the end of April 2023 at Acer Stores, eStores, Shopee and Lazada.

Other than the laptops, Acer has also announced new desktop towers, the Predator Orion 3000 and Acer Nitro 50. 

Predator Orion 3000

The Predator Orion 3000 comes with darkened glass and a metal chassis. Inside, it has the latest 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards, so you won’t need to worry about issues with maxing out settings when playing your favourite game or when video editing. It has  16GB DDR5 RAM and an impressive 1TB M.2 PCIe SSDs which gives you an improved responsiveness and shorter loading screen time. As usual, you can also upgrade the hardware with additional expansion slots to fit your needs.   

It’s designed to fit any room thanks to the modern look with an optional transparent EMI-compliant side panel, and RGB LED customizable lighting. To keep the machine cool, it has three 92x92 mm Predator FrostBladeTM 2.0 fans for better airflow in cooling the internals.   

The Orion 3000 will be available from RM 5,999 in May 2023. But starting 30 April 2023, you can pre-order it at select stores which is listed below.

The Predator Orion 3000 is priced from RM5,999 and will be available in May 2023 at Acer eStore and Acer's official stores on Shopee and Lazada. Starting now and running until 30 April 2023, customers can pre-order the Orion 3000 from select concept stores listed in Table 1.

Acer’s new and upgraded Nitro 50 comes with a major facelift to the front chassis and the sleek Nitro logo on the side panel. It’s powered by the 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GTX 1650 graphics card which is good for those looking for something for casual gaming or for heavier workloads that need higher performance. 

You’ll be able to enjoy 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD which can also be upgraded. What’s more impressive about the Nitro 50 is that it comes with wireless charging which allows for a neater table and lesser cable management.
