You look around your home and decide that it’s time for a change of scene. But changing your interior design is often such a hassle because you have to measure everything and do a lot of heavy lifting, not to mention the costs. And at the end of it all, you can’t even be sure if the actual arrangement would look as good as it did in your head.

AR Your Way Through Renovations
With IKEA’s newly upgraded AI-powered IKEA Kreativ app, you don’t need to rely solely on your mind’s eye when it comes to interior design. Using Augmented Reality (AR) technology, the app can create a complete 3D replica of your rooms, allowing you to “remove” your old furniture and “redesign” them with IKEA products.
The 3D replica is generated through the app’s Kreativ Scene Scanner, made accurate with LiDAR sensors that are readily available on most Apple flagship devices. However, LiDAR sensors are not a requirement for this feature; users of older iPhone models can still input a series of photographs of a room to create a wide-angle, interactive replica of the space.
With an effectively “clean slate”, all you need to do next is pick and choose your new furniture and arrange them the way you like it. You can save your layouts for future reference or sharing, so that everyone in the household can get a say on the design.
Once you’re happy with your design, you can add everything to your cart and check out easily online, or save it to a shopping list and pick it up at your local IKEA store.
While the IKEA Kreatif app is currently not available in Malaysia yet, you can still learn more about this app, visit the IKEA website here.
