This September, your Apple Watch is getting a major upgrade with the launch of watchOS 26.
From a brand new look for the entire operating system to a personal intelligent fitness coach, here's a look at what you can expect when you browse through your Apple Watch.
"Liquid Glass"

The most noticeable change in watchOS 26 is the new "Liquid Glass" design. Everything from app icons to notifications and the Control Centre will have a sleek, reflective appearance that reflects light according to how you manuever on the screen.
No More "Ding" Notifications
Have you ever been in a quiet room and had your watch loudly chime with a notification? Apple is fixing that by auto-adjusting the volume of incoming notifications and calls based on your surroundings.
If you're out with friends, your Apple Watch will intuitively lower the volume so as not to be intrusive, and it will do the opposite and bump up the sounds so notifications won't slip your attention when you're in a noisy environment.
But, there is still an option to customise the volume levels or turn the feature off completely. Plus, a new wrist flick gesture makes it easy to quickly dismiss calls or silence alarms. Pretty cool and convenient for awkward moments when your hands are full.
A Workout Buddy

As you exercise, it analyses your workout data, such as your heart rate, pace, and distance, to give you real-time feedback and motivation.
Whenever you start a run, the AI coach will cheer you on with personalised pep talks, reminding you of how far you've run this week.
During your workout, it can tell you if you've hit a new personal milestone. At the end, it will give you a full summary of your workout and congratulate you on your achievements.
The best part is that it speaks to you with a dynamic, computer-generated voice that has the right tone and energy, modelled on the voices of Fitness+ trainers.
A Smarter Smart Stack

The Smart Stack, which shows you relevant information throughout the day, will now display helpful "hints."
For instance, if you're in a remote area without a signal, it might suggest a helpful feature like Backtrack. Or, if you arrive at your usual yoga studio, it might pop up a reminder to start a Pilates workout.
