Design: Flexible & Lightweight
Weight is definitely one of the most important factor to every cordless vacuum cleaner. Fortunately, the EvoPower System NEO+ is only 1.7kg, making it among the lightest in its category, all the while providing easy maneuverability, especially with the Multi-Flex wand to help you clean hard-to-reach areas and clean under low-lying furniture without straining your back.
The EvoPower System NEO+ is made of a solid strong plastic-like material with a satin-matte finish. Thus you wouldn't need to worry about easy scratches showing up.
An interesting fact about the EvoPower System NEO+ Shark is that the vacuum is made with the Asian body frame in mind. This vacuum stands at a height that avoids awkward handling, thus you'll be able to comfortably grip its handle, makes it easier to use for extended periods without straining your wrist.
With the Smart IQ PRO Technology, there is also no need to manually switch between modes at all.
When it comes to detaching the mid-stick and switch to handheld-mode, the release latch is located at the top base of the vacuum, whereas the release latch for head attachment (with the mid-stick) is at the base bottom of the vacuum.
Intelligent Features: Smart IQ PRO Technology Dirt Detect & Floor Detect
The EvoPower System NEO+ powers up with a 225W motor and runs on Smart IQ Pro Technology, delivering strong suction power for thorough cleaning. This technology is essentially the brainpower behind its Dirt Detect and Floor Detect systems that automatically optimises how to clean different dirt types on different floors.
- Dirt Detect: Vacuum will increase suction power especially when hidden dirt is detected.
- Floor Detect: Vacuum will adjust suction and brush roll speed based on floor type for optimal cleaning. This means you can go straight from hardwood to carpeted floors right away.
Additionally, the multi-surface brushroll head attachment is fitted with a PowerFins™ Brushroll which is designed with softrolls to capture all stubborn dirt, dust and fine hair. It also allows the vacuum to dig deeper into the likes of carpets and hard floors simultaneously for continuous cleaning contact.
Making sure maintenance is as easy as possible, the brushroll head is also optimised with a comb powered by Anti-Hair Wrap technology to actively remove and prevent hair—long or short—from tangling around the brushroll, maintaining a consistent performance. This means you don't need to manually remove any hair from the brushroll as well.
Battery & Docking Station
On its runtime, the vacuum offers up to 50 minutes of continuous cleaning, split between two battery packs. To charge, dock the vacuum at the station and it'll charge automatically, taking approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge. To get longer use of the vacuum in one session, just swap between the two removable batteries (each is worth approximately 25 minutes).
Moreover, the docking station has an Auto Empty System feature, with a True HEPA Filtration system inside it. This filter will capture and trap 99.9% of dust and allergens inside, ensuring that they do not escape the docking station when you empty it. Thus, this vacuum is great for households with children and pets.
To use the Auto Emptying System, just dock the vacuum at the station and the on-vacuum bin will auto empty into the station's bagless base, capable of holding up to 30 days worth of dirt, reducing constant manual maintenance overall.
Note that the Auto Emptying System triggers everytime the vacuum is docked. If you would prefer to pause this, you can enable Night Mode (button located on the Auto-Empty System).
What we like
- Design and Built
The EvoPower System NEO+ is quite compact in built (with the docking station) to port around, making it a good pick for smaller homes. Moreover, when up against similar competing models such as the Dyson V8 (2.1kg) and Dyson Micro (1.5kg), the EvoPower System NEO+ is also lighter at 1.7kg.
Whether in handheld or handstick mode, because the vacuum base of the EvoPower System NEO+ is designed with even weight distribution, it feels balanced and comfortable to hold, making it easy to use for an extended amount of time.
- Auto Emptying System
A money-saving factor of the EvoPower System NEO+ is that it's bagless. Unlike a lot of brands with a docking system, they tend to require additional purchase of a dirt bag. Thus you would not need to buy any additional dirt bags for upkeeping the Auto Emptying System.
Additionally, the Auto Emptying System is designed in a way to prevent dust and dirt from being exposed to the air when the vacuum bin is being emptied. Not to mention, because it has a HEPA Filter, this Auto Emptying System makes it safe for most homes with children, pets, and allergy-sufferers.

What we dislike
- Less efficient handle ergonomics
While the EvoPower System NEO+'s handle is technically comfortable to hold and feel, it is less ergonomic than those on many other vacuum cleaners with a pistol-like contoured grip. This means you may use more awareness and strength to properly grip the vacuum cleaner, draining your energy quicker in the end. Compared to other vacuums, you can get away with using a less "strong" grip.
- Battery Management
The EvoPower System NEO+ vacuum comes with two removable batteries. Thus it gains a maximum run-time battery of up to 50 minutes overall, matching up to par with other similar vacuum brands.
This might however be a hassle for anyone with big homes and wants to clean in a single go. It is because you'll need to switch to the second battery pack after 25 minutes is up on the first.
However, having a single, bigger battery on the vacuum means it'll be a heavier product.

Although lightweight, the vacuum feels sturdy and premium enough that it should last in your household well, even for heavy usage. This vacuum is also great to pick due to its convenient docking system and Multi-Flex Wand for easy cleaning underneath furnitures.
