Samsung One UI Modes and Routines

Here’s How The OneUI 5.1 Helps With Productivity On Your Galaxy Phone!

Multitasking has never been easier.

Along with the Galaxy S23 Series launch, Samsung also launched the OneUI 5.1, which is now available on most recent Galaxy phones including the S Series, A Series, and Z Series. Over the years, Samsung has been updating its user interface to provide new features, improved performance, and better user experience, especially when it comes to multitasking and productivity.

So, what can you do with the new OneUI 5.1?

Split Screen

This is one of the features made for multitasking that was designed for Samsung’s bigger screens like their tablets and foldables. However, with the UI updates, you can also use the split screen function on your Galaxy S23 Ultra!

Once enabled in Settings, you’ll be able to activate it by swiping with two fingers from the bottom of the screen. You’ll be able to choose one of your recently opened apps or your most used apps. Easy, right?

Pop-Up View

The Pop-Up View function has also been improved for the Samsung OneUI 5.1. Now, you can drag from the corner of the screen to turn your app into a pop-up window or drag it back to switch back to full-screen mode.

The update makes switching back and forth between pop-up view and full screen so much more easier and intuitive, heightening productivity and making Galaxy devices much more desirable when it comes to multitasking.

Modes and Routines

The Modes and Routines feature allows your phone to perform tasks and change device settings automatically using typical “if… then…” formulas. There are default modes on the Galaxy S23 Ultra already, but you can also create your own custom mode if you want.

For example, I set up my Galaxy S23 Ultra so that it turns on Driving Mode as soon as the phone connects to my car’s Bluetooth (which happens automatically as well). In Driving Mode, my phone will turn on DND mode, open Spotify, and configure the volume settings so I always have the perfect vibes during the bad KL traffic jams.

Apart from the usual widget and animation additions, Samsung’s OneUI 5.1 has also had some practical updates that make multitasking easier on Galaxy phones, improving productivity so you can make the most out of your day. These are just some of the small but meaningful updates in the latest UI; let us know if you find anything else!
