M2 Pro also features a 16-core or 19-core GPU that delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance over the M1 Pro, while the 16-core Neural Engine is up to 40% faster compared to the previous generation for faster machine learning tasks like video analysis and image processing.
The M2 Max chip on the other hand features a 12-core CPU that is up to 20% faster than the M1 Max chip, and up to a 38-core GPU for 30% greater graphics performance, according to Apple. With the M2 Max chip, the new MacBook Pro is now up to 6x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro for some tasks.
Wi-Fi 6E is supported by the latest MacBook Pro models, providing faster wireless connectivity and lower latency on the 6GHz band while previous 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models were limited to Wi-Fi 6, which operates over 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The HDMI has been updated to the 2.1 standard, supporting up to 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 240Hz. From what we can see, the 2023 models' battery lives have been increased, thanks to their new processors; the 14-inch model can now handle 18 hours of video playback and 12 hours of wireless web browsing, while the 16-inch model can go up to 22 hours of video playback and 15 hours of wireless web browsing.
