Get Ready for The New Galaxy S23 With These Photography Tips (feat. Galaxy S22)

The camera does not make the photographer; the photographer makes the camera

Everyone knows you can shoot like a pro with the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Loading the power of a professional’s kit in one handheld device, the S22 Ultra has massive pixel sensors and shape-shifting pixels, allowing you to capture with clarity from day to night.

With Adaptive Pixels, the intelligent camera can adapt and switch from 108MP high-resolution mode to 12MP high-sensitivity mode, or even shoot in both modes simultaneously to create brighter and clearer photos.

Tips for Capturing Moments in Different Modes

But just having an amazing camera doesn’t make you a great photographer. You need more than just that, from getting the perfect angles and perspectives to composition and framing: there is a lot to learn before you are decent at taking photos.

That said, here are some tips and tricks that can potentially help you in taking stunning photos even if you are a novice photographer.

1. Portrait

Have you ever seen those stunning portrait photos where the subject stands out stark against a soft out-of-focus background? That’s called a bokeh effect, and require a lot of playing around with the settings on a regular DSLR.

On the Galaxy S22 Ultra, though, taking bokeh portraits is incredibly easy. You can adjust the background effect until you get the right amount of blur and colour. There are many effects to play with such as Black and White, ColorPoint and others. If you haven’t noticed, the B&W effect certainly makes your portraits look classy!

You can always check on the available effects by tapping on the circular shape in the low-right corner after opening your S22 Ultra camera. From here, the intensity of the effect is adjustable to add a realistic touch to your photo. For instance, its smart computational photography allows you to create a “mask” with a blurred background so that the objects are well-focused.

A newly added asset on the S22 Ultra is the 3x digital zoom. While in Portrait mode, you’ll get a better separation with minimum background noise as you zoom in. Even better, you are free to change the background effects of older portraits using the Change background effect option at the bottom of your Gallery.

2. Night Photography

While capturing starry nights might be exclusive to professional cameras, the S22 Ultra lets you shoot from sunup to sundown with consistent, stunning details, all thanks to Samsung’s revolutionary Nightography.

Taking low-light images is as simple as turning on Night Mode. On the shooting modes list, you can find More and then choose Night. Its large pixel sensor, Adaptive Pixel technology, Super Night Solution and more all work together to deliver beautiful, clear low-light photos without any flares.

As most experienced photographers should know, a higher shutter speed results in a darker image. In other words, you may get a clearer picture by reducing the shutter speed. To do this, look for the Timer icon in the lower-right corner after switching your camera to Night Mode. Select Max and then hit the shutter button. You should stay still until the photo is captured successfully.

3. Landscape

Some people like to go all out with their mobile photography, and Samsung understands that need. The S22 Ultra offers a newly introduced Expert RAW app which gives more creative control for Galaxy users.

You can think of the Expert RAW app as a comprehensive suite of in-camera editing tools or a professional studio in your pocket. Giving a DSLR-like experience, the app helps in capturing high-quality, high-dynamic range pictures in the multi-frame RAW format. \

Using Expert RAW, landscape photography contains higher sharpness and detail, with lesser noise and much more information in a single picture. Users can choose the settings for ISO, white balance, shutter speed and even the digital lens size for the scene.

The clear advantage here - shoot and edit pictures immediately all within a single solution. With Expert RAW, you are free from the limitations of computational photography. What’s better, the app is also designed to work with Adobe Lightroom - the go-to app for most photography veterans.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is undoubtedly the cream of the crop in smartphone photography. Combining powerful hardware and optimized software, even a newbie in photography can click high-quality images that can go on social media without much editing.
