Who said that 4K gaming is not achievable? For this review, our video editor, Tarvin, will debunk this myth with the BenQ Mobiuz EX3210U, an affordable gaming monitor that comes with a range of rather impressive specs and an easy-to-remember name (/s).
The EX3210U is another addition to BenQ’s lineup of premium gaming monitors, the Mobiuz family. As its name suggests, it’s a 32-inch flat-screen monitor that supports a refresh rate of 144hz and 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, so this is also for all the picture and video editing nerds out there. It also has a response time of 1ms with a peak brightness of 600 nits.

Build & Setup
First off, it’s a really good-looking monitor. Even though 32-inches is not a very big screen, the bezels are thin, so you get the feeling of more screen than the body.
The body of the monitor is white, which is a new look for the Mobiuz brand, but honestly, it works. What we really like the most about this monitor is the back of it, because it sports a stylish sci-fi look with RGB strips that are adjustable from the mode menu.
Overall, the EX3210U has a sleek yet sturdy build all the way down to the V-shaped stand that’s solid enough to keep your monitor from jiggling when you’re raging and smashing the table while gaming.
Software & Hardware
The EX3210U is equipped with dual 2 Watt speakers and a 5W subwoofer tuned by Tervolo, completed with a DSP chip that further enhances your audio experience. The sound quality is really decent, so if you’re thinking about coupling the monitor with external speakers, maybe hold off on that for a while.
On top of that, it also has a pretty decent in-built mic that supports noise-cancelling, so you can save on an external mic as well.
The monitor has a lot of ports: two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and 4 USB Type-A ports.
The DisplayPort 1.4 gives you 4K with a 144hz refresh rate while the HDMI 2.1 ports will give you 4K 120hz. The former is for your computing and PC gaming needs, while the latter is for gaming consoles. This is a very smart move by BenQ since next-gen consoles can only go up to 4k 120hz.
Another interesting feature is the way the monitor can recognize and remember the settings for each of the input ports, so you've saved the hassle of returning everything every time you swap sources.
Screen & Display
At 178 degrees, the viewing angles are quite impressive, though we doubt anyone will be viewing it at such an aggressive angle. It’s nice to have, I guess.
While the EX3210U is only an HDR 600 display, it also supports HDPi with multiple options for Gaming, Cinema, and Display. Each option is made for different usage. Gaming will give you better contrast, Cinema will brighten darker colours so Batman doesn’t have to be in the dark all the time, and the Display adds a warm tint to the screen to help with eye exhaustion when you’re working for long periods of time.
That might look like a lot of settings to play around with, but here’s the best part: it comes with a remote. Yes, a remote for a monitor. That means you don’t have to fiddle about with the tiny little knobs that are hard to see and harder to feel when you need to change the settings. Instead, just like regular television, you can just use the remote to control brightness and audio, change the game and HDRi modes, and even swap inputs, all without needing to get off your butt.
Performance & Gaming
And now finally, what you’re all waiting for: the gaming. In short, it was amazing. The colours are great, the contrasts are good, and it also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro which makes it all so buttery smooth. For review purposes, we played a wide variety of games to test out the different HDRi modes as well as colour modes.
Darker games like Elder Ring tend to benefit from the HDRi Game mode because it makes the dark colours look really dark and helps it achieve the grim atmosphere that the game was made for.
Brighter games like Spider-Man on the PS5 do well on the FPS or Racing mode, as it enhances the vibrancy of the scenes. Forza 5 in 4K looks absolutely stunning with all the details and vibrancy of Mexico.
While consoles are mostly already 4K-compatible, some people may still think that 4K gaming on PC is just nothing but a pipe dream, since graphics cards are still not advanced enough to achieve 4K at a stable frame rate, not to mention at 144hz. However, NVIDIA and AMD have their own supersampling technology that really helps when it comes to 4K gaming, so in this review, we were able to get 80 to 90 FPS in Back 4 Blood 4 on a Ryzen 5 6000 series and an RTX 2070. These frame rates are just going to go up higher with future advancements from NVIDIA and AMD.
Conclusion
With its large number of ports, 4K display, and high refresh rates, the EX3210U ticks all the boxes for an amazing gaming monitor that also works perfectly for multi-platformers. You can have your computer, xBox, and PS5 all hooked up to the same display and have all your games in 4K, unifying your gaming experience as a whole.
