Spotify Hikes Subscription Prices in Singapore—Here’s What You Need to Know

Spotify users in Singapore will soon have to pay more for their music. The streaming giant has officially raised its Premium subscription fees across multiple global regions, including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific. Unfortunately for Singaporean subscribers, that means a price hike is on the way starting this September.

According to Spotify’s announcement, the latest price adjustment is meant to “support continued innovation” and “enhance the user experience.” However, this marks the second price increase in two years, following a similar hike in July 2023.

Still No Sign of Spotify HiFi

While prices are going up, some users are questioning whether the value is increasing as well. Back in 2021, Spotify announced plans to introduce a HiFi tier with lossless audio streaming, but four years later, the feature still hasn’t launched. With rivals like Apple Music and Amazon Music already offering lossless audio at no extra cost, the delay has left many Spotify loyalists frustrated.

Bottom Line

For now, Spotify remains one of the most popular music streaming services in Singapore. Still, with rising subscription costs and delayed feature rollouts, users may start considering alternatives, especially if promised upgrades like HiFi continue to lag.
