The foldable phone battle heats up this July as Vivo officially launches the X Fold5 in Singapore, joining the recent wave of releases from Honor and Samsung. Lighter Than Most Foldables — But Still Feature-Packed

Despite being packed with flagship features, the Vivo X Fold5 tips the scales at just 217g, making it one of the lightest book-style foldables available — only 2g heavier than Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold7. When folded, the device measures 9.2mm thick, putting it on par with rivals like the Honor Magic V5.

It sports a generous 8.03-inch main display, paired with a 6.53-inch cover screen. Both panels offer up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, promising a top-tier viewing experience whether you're watching videos or multitasking.

Built to Last — And Built to Impress

The X Fold5 uses a new “kinematic” hinge rated for 600,000 folds, offering durability that should comfortably outlast your typical upgrade cycle. It also boasts a triple IP rating: IPX8 and IPX9 for water resistance, and IP5X for dust protection — a rare combination for foldables.

ZEISS Cameras and AI Tools for Power Users

Vivo continues its collaboration with ZEISS on the camera front, equipping the X Fold5 with a triple 50MP rear camera setup. This includes a 3x telephoto lens, an ultrawide camera, and a primary sensor, designed to offer both versatility and quality in mobile photography.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, backed by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. While it skips out on the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite variant, Vivo hopes to make up for it with robust software.

Its new Origin Workbench interface lets users run up to five apps simultaneously, going beyond the typical split-screen features found in other foldables. There’s also a suite of AI-powered tools, including Smart Call Assistant, AI Transcript, and AI Captions, aimed at boosting productivity on the go.

Bigger Battery, Faster Charging

Keeping everything running is a massive 6,000mAh BlueVolt battery, built with semi-solid-state battery tech. You’ll also get 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging foldables on the market.

Local Pricing, Availability & Launch Freebies

The Vivo X Fold5 is now available for pre-order in Singapore from 31 July to 7 August 2025, with official sales starting on 8 August.

During the pre-order window, purchases through official Vivo channels will enjoy:

  • S$300 off the retail price
  • A free Vivo Watch GT (worth S$299)
  • A free pair of Vivo Buds (worth S$89)
  • 2 years global warranty
  • 3 months screen protection

Even after launch, the free Watch GT and Buds will still be bundled in — but only while stocks last.

With a lightweight design, premium camera hardware, multi-tasking software, and powerful charging capabilities, the Vivo X Fold5 is shaping up to be a strong contender in Singapore’s foldable smartphone market. And with all those launch-day bonuses, early buyers are definitely in for a treat.
