Apple might be preparing to give its iPad Pro lineup a new twist. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the next-generation iPad Pro could come equipped with two front-facing cameras, offering users more flexibility for video calls and selfies, no matter how they hold the device.

More Versatile Video Calls
The main purpose behind this dual-camera setup appears to be orientation-friendly communication. Whether you’re using the iPad Pro in landscape or portrait mode, the second front camera would ensure you're always centered during a FaceTime call or video meeting.
This builds on the current iPad Pro (M4), which already relocated its front camera to the landscape edge to improve video calling. Despite the new addition, Face ID functionality is expected to remain unaffected, as it already supports both portrait and landscape orientations.
M5 Chip Also on the Way
Under the hood, the upcoming iPad Pro is expected to debut with Apple’s next-generation M5 chip, promising another bump in speed and performance. However, since the M4 iPads were only recently introduced with a new design and OLED display, the 2025 refresh is likely to bring minor hardware changes overall.
Launch Timeline
Apple is reportedly planning to announce the new iPad Pro models in October 2025. This timeline would follow the company’s usual pattern, giving the iPads some breathing room after the expected iPhone launch in early September.

What This Means for Users
While a second front camera might not seem like a massive change on paper, it could enhance the user experience significantly — especially for those who frequently use their iPad Pro for calls, virtual meetings, or content creation. It’s another step in Apple’s ongoing effort to make the iPad Pro a truly pro-level device.
More details are likely to surface in the coming months as Apple’s fall launch season approaches.
