Samsung’s next budget 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A17 5G, has surfaced on retailer listings in Spain and France, revealing a familiar A-series design but with some meaningful upgrades for the price tier. According to the listings, the phone features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display running at 90Hz and protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, plus an IP54 rating for light dust and splash resistance. It’s shown with an Exynos 1330 chipset, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging. The rear camera array is led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, joined by 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras, while the front houses a 13MP selfie shooter. Other touches called out in the early listings include stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC, dual-SIM support, and USB-C. The device is expected to ship with One UI 7 based on Android 15, and multiple reports suggest a long support window of six years for OS upgrades and security patches, rare at this price.
Pricing in Europe points to a value-focused launch: the 4GB/128GB configuration is listed at around €230, while the 8GB/256GB option appears between roughly €309 and €319, depending on the market. Color options shown so far are Black, Blue, and Gray. With retail pages already appearing and support documents popping up in several regions, a formal announcement seems imminent. For buyers who’ve been eyeing a durable 90Hz AMOLED, OIS for steadier shots, and long software support—without stepping out of the entry tier—the A17 5G is shaping up as one of Samsung’s most practical budget upgrades this year.
