Vivo has officially taken the wraps off the T4R 5G smartphone, a performance-centric mid-ranger that blends premium design cues with all-day stamina and rare-for-the-segment ruggedization. The phone centers on a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, framed by slim contours that keep the body strikingly thin. Vivo pairs the display with “Diamond Shield” glass developed with Schott, aiming to make the curved screen less prone to damage without adding heft. The T4R 5G measures as slim as 7.39mm and weighs 183.5g, underscoring the company’s focus on sleek ergonomics even as it pitches the device as a tougher everyday companion.

Under the hood, the T4R 5G switches to MediaTek’s 4nm Dimensity 7400 platform, a modern 5G chip designed to deliver solid efficiency for gaming, multitasking, and AI-assisted features. It’s offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and it ships with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. Vivo is promising two years of major Android version upgrades and three years of security patches, which is reassuring support at this price point and should help the phone age gracefully across multiple software cycles.
Imaging is led by a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilization, supported by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait effects. Up front, a 32MP camera handles selfies and video calls. A notable bonus for creators is that both the rear and front cameras can record 4K video, giving users consistent high-resolution footage regardless of which side of the phone they’re using. Stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint reader round out the entertainment and security package, while vivo layers in a handful of AI photo tools and niceties such as Live Photo and multifocal portrait modes to broaden creative options.

Powering it all is a 5,700mAh battery that aims for reliable day-to-day endurance without inflating the chassis. The cell supports 44W wired fast charging over USB-C, and vivo also includes a bypass charging mode that feeds power directly to the system under heavy use to help control heat—handy for long gaming sessions or streaming. Combined with the efficiency gains from the 4nm chipset and adaptive refresh behaviour, the battery spec positions the T4R 5G as a dependable travel and commute companion.
Durability is a cornerstone of the T4R 5G’s pitch. Beyond the Schott-collab display cover, the handset touts dual IP ratings—IP68 for submersion and IP69 for high-temperature, high-pressure water jets—plus MIL-STD-810H testing for shock resistance. Those claims, uncommon in this price segment, signal that vivo is chasing users who want a slim, stylish phone that isn’t fragile in the face of rain, dust, or occasional knocks. Vivo also highlights a reinforced internal structure and “water ejection” features alongside underwater photography modes, reinforcing the device’s utility outdoors, as always within the bounds of tested depth and time.
In India, the vivo T4R 5G is offered in Arctic White and Twilight Blue with three memory options, and it is priced from ₹19,499 for the 8GB/128GB variant, ₹21,499 for the 8GB/256GB variant, and ₹23,499 for the 12GB/256GB variant. Sales commence via vivo’s e-store, Flipkart, and partner retailers, with availability slated to begin August 5. The pricing and configuration ladder put the T4R 5G squarely into the competitive sub-₹25,000 bracket, where its quad-curved display and IP68/IP69 credentials help it stand out against similarly specced rivals.
In the context of vivo’s broader lineup, the T4R 5G can be seen as a durability-focused sibling to other T-series models, and YugaTech notes that it mirrors the hardware and even pricing of the iQOO Z10R in India, reflecting vivo’s tendency to align platforms across its house brands. That alignment helps explain how the T4R 5G manages to bring polished design and robust protection together under ₹20K, while still maintaining a camera system that includes a stabilized Sony sensor and 4K capture on both fronts. For shoppers who want a thin, stylish phone that can shrug off weather and everyday hazards, the T4R 5G’s formula is unusually well balanced.
