Acer has solidified its position as the leading personal computer brand in the Philippines, capturing a 35.7% share of the market in the first quarter of 2025, according to data from market research firm GfK. The company also dominated specific segments, holding 34.2% of the consumer notebook market and an impressive 40.6% share in gaming laptops.
This continued success can be attributed to Acer's strategic marketing initiatives, particularly its partnership with Filipino pop group SB19. The collaboration, which began informally in 2020 and became official in 2021, has enabled Acer to connect with younger audiences through social media and online content. In April 2025, Acer's notebook segment achieved a 36% market share, further solidifying its dominance in the sector.
The partnership with SB19 has extended beyond traditional ambassadorships. In May 2025, Acer co-presented SB19's "Simula at Wakas" world tour stop in Taiwan. During the visit, the group toured Acer's Taipei headquarters, tested new product innovations, and received Predator Helios 18 gaming laptops from company executives. The members also participated in product workshops and design sessions at Acer's experience center, highlighting the brand's focus on youth and creativity.
As the partnership enters its fifth year, both Acer and SB19 have expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations aimed at keeping the brand connected to younger audiences and tech-savvy consumers.
With the increasing demand for digital devices and gaming becoming more popular, Acer's strong market position and cultural appeal provide it with a competitive edge as 2025 progresses.
