Lenovo is offering a lot in this laptop. It sports a Windows 10 OS together with a high-end Intel Core i7-9750H processor and an affordable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphic card. With all of that, you should expect a smooth enough performance without too much delay for medium-high performing games on 1080p resolution with 60fps, with recommended settings tweaked between low to medium.

Under the hood is also a decent amount of storage albeit HDD, a fast-reacting 15-inch TN panel with full HD support, and about 7-8 hours of use when web browsing and watching videos casually. The cooling is also not bad, as it was reported that the laptop has a well-managed cooling system with low fan noise.

With the entry hardware, you should be able to play some pretty good titles on this machine such as Far Cry 5 and Tomb Raider. As we've said beforehand, tweaking is needed for high-end games in order to not fry your laptop.

Because the laptop is equipped with several budget-friendly yet good-performance hardware pieces, the built quality isn't there. Although, you do get a sleek-looking device. Moreover, it has been said that the laptop has below-average brightness and bad viewing angles.

Unless you are planning to upgrade right away, the low RAM is also a little disappointing. On the bright side, the laptop is satisfactory in weight at 2.1kg, with other features like an HD webcam, backlit keyboard, and Dolby Audio speaker system.

In conclusion, the laptop is good for entry-gaming or those on a budget such as a student or casual gamers.

Reviews of the Lenovo Ideapad L340

"The Lenovo IdeaPad L340 checks all the must-have boxes for an entry-level, budget gaming laptop." - Digital Weekly

"The Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15IRH Gaming shows in our review that even budget laptops with slightly less graphics performance are suitable for games. However, buyers have to accept minor trade-offs such as the missing memory card reader or the somewhat weak ClickPad." - NotebookCheck.net

"...we don’t think the Ideapad L340 Gaming (15″) is really that bad of a device. It just carries too much of the older Ideapad 330 with itself and is not really focused on gaming. Should they lower the price or update some of the features of this notebook, it is going to be a perfect match for gamers on a budget." - LaptopMedia.com
